Day 12Sem paid her mate off the next morning, and as the night before I was asking John the best British shop, selling sausages, bacon, pies, etc. as I saw one advertised on the TV, and wanted to know where it was. John told me the best place was ‘Yorkies’, on the Jomtien beach, where a Yorkshire guy who is a butcher, makes the best sausages in town, and you can get a good breakfast there. All the long stay British ex-pats prefer to buy their stuff there, and with out writing too much about the place, here is a link to a write up about the place;
http://www.pattayama...18/dining.shtmlSo after hitting the ‘K’ exchange, we headed over to there, noticing about 20 barbecue chicken stalls, by the road side on the way. I thought to my self, it would be a good idea, if someone was heading to the beach for the day, to stop and get a couple to take with them, for a snack on the beach:
http://www.pattayaph...BpRUWumkc6ARDHBI managed to find Yokies with out a hitch, as it was not far from the corner where the Pattaya road hits the beginning of the beach, and just a few doors along from there. So we had a good breakfast there, where I noticed the local ex-pats regularly pulling up out side, and going into the little shop they had in the back, to get supplies.
After breakfast we went up Buddha hill on the way back to Pattaya, and spent an hour looking around there. As it was just early afternoon, I figured we wouldn’t go too far today, so we headed back to the hotel first so I could pick up my boots from the menders, and drop them off in the loom. It turned out the mender removed the other heel, and put on two completely new ones, as it was more difficult to match the one I had already on. He put on two heels that were better than the originals, and made a better job of it, plus two good insoles, and charged me 160 baht, or just over 3 euros, you just couldn’t beat that.
So not to go too far that afternoon, we headed to ‘Mini Saim’ for the day, which was on of the hottest days so far, so we picked up a free umbrella at the entrance, to keep the sun off us, as we toured the place at our own pleasure.
http://www.minisiam.com/index_eng.htmlAfter that, we stopped by her room on the way back, and was greeted by her aunt and nieces, who were staying in the same building. Her aunt’s husband was working as the head gardener at the Dusit Thani, and she was just hanging around every day bored stiff wile he was at work, so we spent an hour there having a drink and a laugh. As I was in the area, I decided to call in on Winai, who lived only a few doors down from Sem’s room. Winai and his missus was away, but the maid phoned them, and told them I was here, so he arranged for us to come to dinner at his home that evening.
Headed back to the hotel but stopping on the way to pay the bar at Soi 2, where Sem’s mate from the night before, was sitting there bored stiff, and was delighted to see us, so the three of us had a drink, where she was begging to go with us again, Sem told her some other time, as we had things to do, and left her there with a sad face on, poor girl.
My stomach was feeling grotty, from acid and heart burn from the Kamagra the night before, so Sem got me a bottle of something from the pharmacy which was just outside the hotel also. And as soon as I took one mouthful, I was right as rain right away, and was like a miracle cure. I don’t know the name of it, but here is a photo of the bottle, and I recommend getting a bottle and stick it in the fridge, for those next mornings after being on the piss, and you feel a bit shity in the belly department. As I figured it was the Kamagra that was doing it, I stopped it and found I didn’t need it in the first place. I took it once or twice after that when I felt poorly, and had very little or no trouble with my stomach for the rest of the holiday. I even took a couple of bottles back with me to Holland, to use at home, because I can’t get as good as that here.
That evening we went to Winai, and had dinner and a few drinks, and stayed there for the rest of the evening. Then went back to the hotel around 1am pretty tired.
