Great reporting as usual paul...... as always you have shown us there more thing to be done in pattaya than just drinking and mongering..... but then again that is the main purpose why we are in pattaya hahahhaha

Day 9

As we had an early night in, we were up bright and breezy the next morning, went across the road to the restaurant across the road from the hotel and had breakfast, which is not recommended, because of anything with a sausage in it is German, but the rest of the grub in the place is great and cheap. Right next door was a oil massage place, Sem spotted it, and of course walked over and had a chat with the girls sitting outside. Then came back and said, “Paul how about we go for an oil massage together?”……….. “Nope we have a busy schedule today”, and left it at that.

Then went and changed money and paid her, as no matter how long I keep them I pay them every day, so that way if they have outstanding bills or rent due, they can sort it out at they’re own convenience. She didn’t know where we were going, and as a matter of fact I didn’t know exactly how to get there, but I was heading to the crocodile farm that she has never been too before. So I headed up the Sukhumvit highway in the right direction at least. Stopping a couple of time to ask directions, and as I did the people I talked too, seemed to be more interested in my Buddha medallion. This rarely happens before, and I reckoned it was popular, rare, or worth something, judging by the curiosity of these strangers.

Anyway, got there without a problem, parked the bike, and walked to the ticket office. Now normally I go to a ticket tout, and the mini bus picks us up at a particular time and costs 600 baht per person, a total of 1,200 baht to begin with. But today it cost me 30 baht for a whisky bottle of petrol to get me there and back, and at the ticket office it was 300 baht entrance fee for a farang, and 150 baht for a Thai, which made a total of 480 baht, saving 720 baht, just to go at your own convenience.

Inside I took her first to feed the big cat fish, then over to the crocodile swamp to fish for crocodiles. Got Sem a fishing rod with a peace of chicken tied to it, and tried to hand it to her, but she looked at me with, ‘What the fuck am I going to do with that’. So to show her I dangled it over the rail, and began swinging it just over the croc’s heads, wile Sem unsuspectingly look on over the rail. Suddenly a big crocodile came flying out of the water, with only his tail and hind legs still in the water, and made a loud snap at the chicken, but luckily I pulled it away in time, but I heard a louder scream from beside of me.

I turned around to Sem and said, “Whaow! Did you see that?” But Sem was nowhere to be seen, and said to myself, “Shit where’s that silly cow got to ……… she must have missed that”. So I put the rod down for a second and went to look for her, the few Thai workers there where pissing them selves laughing, and just pointed to the back of the little shop they had there. So I went around to the back to find Sem, wiping the nervous tears away, but laughing her head off at the same time. So I just said to her, “So I take it your afraid of crocodiles as well as guns then?”……… “Yes of course, but now I’m not scared of guns, and wish I had one now”.

So after messing about with the chicken on a stick, I took her around to the Tigers, “Right get down there with the tiger, and let’s have a couple of photos”…………. “What? ……. No way Paul!” So I got some tickets and said to her, “I have the tickets already so don’t make me throw away good money!” So reluctantly she did, and really got into it, and enjoyed the fact that here is something she’s never done before, and came back with a pleased grin but wiping the nervous tears away again. Then it was my turn, as I never did it since the year before, but little cutie kept the photo. I was right into it this time, and the Thai guy was trying to get it to growl for the photo, but I had everything under control. As you can see in the photo, you can’t see my other hand, but I’m tickling its ball’s, and all I got was a smile and a meow.

Sem didn’t know there was a crocodile show there as well, but it wasn’t due to start until another 40 minutes, so I took her around the crocodile compound where we past an old lady with a uniform on, and of course Sem had to stop and asked her a load of questions, and we got some interesting facts about the place. Then after Sem’s interrogation was over, I slipped the old lady 40 baht to get something to eat, then we headed to the restaurant and had a meal.

As we sat there I could hear that the show was about to start over the loud speakers, so I dragged her over there. After the usual show, I fancied an updated photo with the crocodile, and as soon as the show was over, I jumped up and paid the 100 baht, and went inside, and took some photos, with every body looking on thinking, ‘Well that looks easy’, and started to queue up for the same. I came out and turned to Sem, “Right its your turn now!”……… “No way!”…………… “I just paid a 100 baht for you, you make me loose money again?” So she got up and got in the queue, wiping the nervous tears away. I didn’t pay before for her thinking she wouldn’t do it, and kind of tricked her into it.

Finished off around the elephants, feeding them bananas, then we headed for home, but on the way out, Sem stopped at the ticket office asking another load of questions, because the next time her two kids came for a holiday, This was the first place she was going to take them, so she must have really enjoyed the day out there. Then headed back in the hot sun to Pattaya, stopping on the way to pay her bar-fine in Soi 2. She brought up the subject of a three-some, when she saw one of her mate sitting at the bar, but I felt my usual 5 day fever coming on, from driving all day in the hot sun, so I rain checked it for another day.

I had the idea of getting a half family dinner, from ‘Bob’s Barbecue’ in the LK Plaza, and took it back to the room. It was good value for money, but we both didn’t like it at all, and after nibbling a bit, we repacked it, and gave it to the two maids in the hotel, then had to go out again, to the ‘Silver Dollar’ steak and grill house, in the LK Plaza, where we had a really good steak dinner. Sem could see that I wasn’t feeling well, and stopped off at the 7/11 to get some cold towels, and for the rest of the night, was wiping me down every five minutes. I remember thinking, ‘Thank fuck I had a mature female with me, instead of a young LB’. At the same time Sem was on the phone for a good bit, telling her kids and mother, “Guess what I did today?” By the next morning the fever had gone, and I was ready to rock n’ roll again.
