Frankly, i don't blame her for turning you down. 1,000 Bt a day for a bangkok lady is derisory!
Ha! yeah she left me high and dry with my dick swinging in the wind!

I can't vouch for all barowners but here's some I know who read the forum:I hope he reconsiders & removes his comment before he pisses off every other bar owner on here.
.
like who exactly.?
Jimbo & Ning Nong from C&D's; Karl & Lita from Famous Bar; Hansi from So What & the now defunct Lucky Love Bar; Pampamsam from La Bamba; the owner of Stringfellows (Michael I think it is) & the former owner PowerBob; the gentleman who wishes to remain anonymous from Pattaya Obsessions & his manager, these are ones I am sure of. I can't speak for Pook but no doubt her husband David has checked occasionally.
That's a fairly substantial chunk of barowners to be upsetting. During this very poor low season, the bars don't need insult added to injury. I hope most FMs would give a fuck about the bars, it would be a sorry scene without them.

Hence no notice has been taken of the bad write ups they've been recently experiencing. As Pook has moved into her new house and off the premises the running of the bars has been left to the staff.

Never mind, it's his & Pook's loss. No wonder their bars have gone off so much. Thais in charge of any business dealing with farangs cannot get their thinking past how can we rip the farang off even more.
It's amazing that they don't understand that their lack of business is directly connected to their poor attitude. Or maybe they do but their need for money overwhelms any logical thinking.

and i am the bad guy because i bring the subject up.

agreed.
the bottom line is jimbo does a great job, is an active member of the forums, and actually shags ladyboys
99% would play the game when it comes to bar fines regarding his business, as the respect runs both ways.
and if im honest, it would be a sad day if c&d closed.
but,
would anyone pay a long term bar fine to the other bars.?
i wouldnt, and i stand by what i said.
i dont give a fuck about those bars, or if they are there next year.
one shuts, another one opens.
i also dont care about the bars i went to in spain last year either.
if the owner is struggling with the payments on his toyota 4x4, maybe he should adjust his business model and blame low season. lb hunters are there all year round.
why is it non of the lb bars quite have what sally bar and the corner bar have.?

It's a shame when a post ends with "Nuff said", or similar, as the post loses impact and it leaves the impression the poster can never see things from anyone else's POV.Nuff said!!!
Also, the views of many "long term FM's" are posted to create discussion and open up the topic, and may not necessarily be the view held by the poster.

It's amazing that they don't understand that their lack of business is directly connected to their poor attitude. Or maybe they do but their need for money overwhelms any logical thinking.
So how is that virtually every wealthy Thai business owner is now buying $5,000,000 houses in the very best part of Central London? Those same people with poor attitude purchased gold at 6,000b a baht and are now 5 years later selling it for 25,000b a baht weight.
I suspect that the commonly held perception is that Thai's are having the wrong attitude and thus it is costing them money. However, Mercedes seems to do very well in Thailand selling the same motorcar for 5X the price they achieve in the West. I would say most Thai business intentionally come across like this to farang, but in reality are very smart at managing the purse strings. Most of them have no borrowings - absolutely zip. The ones who are up shit creek are the poor suckers who are the cannon fodder/operators/staff and not the owners.
Almost all wealth is passed through the family and not pissed up the wall through drinking or gambling. That is what most foreigners see, but it is not normality for most monied Thai's. Its a life virtually nobody ever gets to see - but if you go to the French restaurant in the Oriental - arguably one of the most expensive places in Thailand, 80% of diners are Thai. Now these folk are not owning small bar beers in Pattaya, however you may find they own the land and collect substantial rents from bar operators who are holding aspirational dreams to be the same as the landlord but suddenly realising that they are struggling to get customers in and pay the rent. The guy who owns the land does not care about the tenant or what business it is in, so long as the rent is paid.
Presumably the operators being mentioned here are also taking a similar view - if lady drinks are really 180b, then presumably she is not selling that many, however she is also not passing through much commission to the hostess staff. Its the service staff who suffer the most - they get no money, but the operator is still creaming it on a reduced volume of LD's at 180b and for as long as the uneducated LB's come to Pattaya seeking work at 3,000b month, the owners will be quids in.

Huge difference between a longtimer or resident vs. the 2 week millionaire. Everyone can flash his baht around in 2 weeksm but not if you live here, Nuff said! It's a shame when a post ends with "Nuff said", or similar, as the post loses impact and it leaves the impression the poster can never see things from anyone else's POV.Nuff said!!!

Your making a rather big assumption there - I can think of 10 foreign guys straight off whom I know very well, live & work in Thailand and will be earning at least 500,000b a month. None of them to the best of my knowledge choose to be 'flash' but they would not think twice about paying gogo drink prices and barfines. Albeit, they are never going to be barfining the same girl for 30 nights in a row.
I would hazzard a guess that those are the customers most bar operators seek to get and keep.
