OK, how bout this one? I was asked to pay 50 k bath to a lb working the FamilyBar business.

Yes, sometimes it may just be easier (and cheaper) to buy the girl out of the bar completely and be done with it, although B50k sounds very high.

But once the romance is over and she wants to return to work at the same bar, she may have to work for free for a while prior to being salaried again or pay a re-entry fee.

I'd be interested to know what these rates are for various bars, something in the region of B10k, I heard.

Well that sounds ok,but apart from the likes of me taking it as bad manners, what happens if it all goes pear-shaped? Suppose there's a question of theft, or "non - delivery" in the bedroom? Who's he going to come running to?
How much sympathy is he going to get if he's never shown his face in the bar?

If he had paid all the necessary costs, such as bar-fines etc., then it should be dealt with professionally and properly by the management.

If he chose to avoid the barfines or was unaware, then he gets no sympathy what-so-ever.

The fact he may have chosen not to patronise the bar is irrelevant, perhaps he flew her away or chose to travel around with her.

I should imagine the most likely circumstance would be a dispute over costs. After all you're advocating leaving the discussion to the punter and the girl. And how often is that going to be clear-cut?

When he storms into the bar (if he has the balls) to demand recompense - what are his chances of success do you think?

I have no idea as I'm not a bar owner or bar manager, thankfully.

But if he's paid the required costs then his case should be dealt with professionally. If not, I'm sure he'd gladly report his experiences to the numerous forums to let others know how he was treated.

Afterall, in the scenario where he paid barfines for one of your girls automatically makes him a customer.

Are only the customers who you chat with considered worthy of being treated fairly?

There's different degrees of "fair" is probably the truthful answer. If the regular customer in the bar has a complaint, it'll be dealt with immediately and most probably in his favour. Whereas the guy who whisks one of the girls away for a month, without even showing his face..........well, i imagine he would have a harder time.
And as for some of the other bars mentioned.....i think he would stand zero chance.

When it comes to showing your face in the bar during a longer term arrangement I do consider it a bit of "face" for the girl if you pop in and buy a drink now and then and she can show her mates the "gizzits" you've bought her...

So, she will not take 19 000 baht for 10 days? Isn´t that 3 times the average monthly salary for a thai?
Then there´s something very wrong , and i think we are ouselves to blame for spoiling them by overpaying.

Yes, but an A team from Cascades will earn 100k, so why would she mess about for 10,000 bt plus the 9k she would get anyway, as long as she gets her barfine quota.
Frankly, i don't blame her for turning you down. 1,000 Bt a day for a bangkok lady is derisory! She wouldn't get out of bed for that.
