As kids we're not taught how to deal with success; we're taught how to deal with failure. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. If at first you succeed, then what?

especially if wage comparisons between BA and other airlines are anything to go by.

The wage comparisions you have seen, or heard quoted via the press are HIGHLY inaccurate, and we are awaiting the Union to correct all parties concerned. However we hear that those parties are just not interested in printing the truth.

Also we are being compared to the wrong airlines. You constantly see us compared to easyJet and Virgin. Virgin are a small, young outfit, operating just long haul services. EasyJet are a young, short haul low cost airline. BA is a old, legacy carrier, operating short and long haul flights, inheriting many many types of contracts and conditions from an era ago that they cant get out of. We should be being compared to the likes of KLM/Lufthansa/Air France.

But like mentioned before, it's not only about money. It's about safety, trying to get the point to our managemebt that we aren't happy with what they are doing, and actually, trying to help our passengers. The managemet have taken so much away from them, from small items like chcocolates from First Class, to sandwiches and drinks from short haul, that we are also doing this to try and get something back - even if it is just that crew member that is responsible for door 3 left on a 767 in an emergency evacuation, and not leaving it to Mr Smith who wanted to sit there for a little more leg room.......

Also, I hear yesterday that there is a rumour (and I stress, it's a RUMOUR) that the High Court Judge who ruled the strike as illegal, is actually flying BA on December 23rd.......coincedence?

That's it from me. I feel like I have to justify my reasons and I shouldn't have to. The general public have NO idea what Mr WW is doing internally, and what he has planned for the future.

We'll resurrect this thread in the Easter holiday's shall we?
If it fails to inflate....blow into this tube.

Good to get your side of the story first hand FBUK, sometimes there's far too much of a 'I heard from a mate'.

That's a big 10-4 from me buddy :yumm:

FB, it's very good to get an insiders view on what's occuring and I'm sure I'm not alone in thanking you for that.

Although I personally don't believe everything I read in the media, unfortunately sometimes it's the only thing available to base an opinion on, plus in this case the planned untimely disruption to the public.

I'm generally a pro union guy. But I must say that I HATE being ordered about by the grannies that exclusively staff the trans-Pacific flights on United due to their union seniority. :tantrum:

When it comes to service with a smile and a nicely turned leg, give me a sexist Asian carrier any day. It's a service industry and that is the province of the young I'm afraid...

I second that. I would change old Finnish/German stewardesses to sexy young AirAsia Asian chicks anytime too.

We survived a BA strike at Xmas, now Songkran is under threat! :o

British Airways passengers face the threat of a crippling strike which could wreck their Easter holiday plans.

Union leaders for the airline's cabin crew say they plan to hold a vote on industrial action next week.

Around one million passengers could see their travel plans ruined if the union organises a 12-day strike during the school holidays in April.
