Thanks Gaz for your meticulously detailed post highlighting the features of the Canon G9.

If you actually bothered reading what I wrote, you would find my post was about the new Canon G10 which I've already ordered !

As always, your contributions on the forum are.............priceless.

Cheers

actually kk they only diffrence between the two cameras
The Canon PowerShot G10 replaces the G9 as Canon's flagship digital compact camera. The first in the G series to offer wide-angle imaging via a 5x (28mm) zoom with optical Image Stabiliser, the Canon PowerShot G10 also features a 14.7 megapixel sensor and Canon's new DIGIC 4 image processor for excellent image quality. thats the only diffrence between the two all the other functions are the same it stilll cheaper in bangkok i was refering to your first post as well and i did say that the G9 was one of the recomendations i got before the g10 come out. and i just highlight some of the features it has the g9

It's as if there's a parallel universe attempting to communicate with Earth via this forum.

Let's hope they're not using their brightest minds... :?

Thanks Gaz, your blood is worth bottling !

The Canon G10 I purchased set me back $630 AUD including delivery, however there is a promotion wherein they include a $50 Visa Pre Paid Gift Card & a case via redemption through Canon.

So in theory the camera is costing me $580 AUD or around £240 GBP.

More importantly, it comes with a 12 months Australian issued warranty.

With your budget around 100 GBP, look for a model that has image stabilization (IS), optical stabilization is preferred. IS will help compensate for camera shake (up to a degree), so more of your photos will be sharp - as long as you subject doesn't move a lot! For low light photos the Fuji's mentioned in previous posts are best:
Fuji Finepix F50fd, Fuji Finepix F100fd.

If you can find the F50fd on clearance, you might be able to get it around the 100 GBP mark as it is an older model.

Good luck!

steviep35 - unfortunately that is not one of their good lowlight models, try looking for the f50fd.

Also if you're looking at Kodak, look at ones that have IS in the model description, another good company would be Canon.

Again look for IS (image stablization) in the description or for Fuji the fxxfd series for excellent low light performance.

Good luck!
