Soi Bangla has been redeveloped, so there are far fewer lbs there. There is no real concentration of lbs since the redevelopment has taken place in Patong. Rents have gone up so it is much more difficult to operate bars profitably  now. There are some lbs scattered among some of the remaining gg bars, but nothing like the numbers before.

For Phuket social media like Thai Friendly, Tinder, Badoo and others will be useful.

A walk down Bangala any night and you'll find a freelancer hanging around somewhere.

There are ladyboys to be found all over Thailand if you keep your eyes open.

Check out the first few pages of this thread too.

Taxis are damn expensive on Phuket, stay away from tuk--tuks as they will charge you about 500 baht to go from Patong to Rawai.

There is the Grab taxi app, ( Thai version of Uber) that you can use and will be cheaper.

If you have ridden a motorbike before, you can rent a motorbike to get around the island.

However, it is pretty damn dangerous ridding a motorbike in Phuket.

You'll be going over twisty mountain roads with plenty of crazy traffic and probably rain too.

It takes some getting used to, so be warned about this. If you drink and drive, you are asking for trouble.

That said, renting a motorbike is the best way to see Phuket and probably cheaper in the long run, provided that you don't have an accident.

About 1000 baht one way from the airport.

Honestly, I'D give Phuket a pass these days.
