PS

One thing I have noticed about transexuals in Japan and South Korea is that there is a percentage of them that decide to have their testicals removed (castration). Sometimes they will get prosthetic testicals, but many times they will not.

Fuuka Hanasaki is an example of this.

Castration reduces the growth of body hair and probably reduces the need for female hormones. I'm thinking this is more effective the younger they are when they have the procedure, say 18-20. They maintain the ability to get erect, but do not produce sperm, and they ejaculate only semen.

I have never met a Thai LB that has had this done, I wonder why it isn't more common in Thailand?

I think castration is something nearly as radical as SRS and might also be a matter of education and culture.

Do thai LB's have such? Most of them comes from poor areas, often rate start and rate themselves as gays , eventually developing into appropriate LB's also as a matter of "economy" and job opportunity.

There are also thai LB's who come back, even if they had bolt-ons.

Yes, you are probably right in that it has more to do with education and economics more than anything else. I would imagine that most Thai LBs don't have the money to do much more than boob jobs when they are 18-20.

Good point on the level of commitment, they could stop taking hormones, but they couldn't have their balls put back in. It certainly is a permanent decision.

There is a reason for this - in the past castration, or the more delicate term is orchidectomy (surgical removal of testes), was common place in Thailand. The following articles below explain why it isn't so common today.

March 29, 2008 12:00 am
Kom Chad Luek newspaper's editorial leader urged the government to speed up the control of clinics performing castrations for underage boys without parental approval.
With the title "Must tighten control", the editorial said that a growing number of young transvestites were getting cheap castrations, not only reflecting a social trend where society shows more tolerance to the "third sex", but also showing lax supervision in the Thai medical sector. The paper said that after groups of gay activists came out to protest the castrations of minors, it was revealed that such surgery is life threatening. The surgery is in response to the boys' wish to change their sex later. But the surgery at a young age would affect the boys' hormones. Thus, these boys would have to take female hormones. Besides, those who have been castrated are likely to enter middle age sooner than a normal person of 45. Moreover, pre-teenage boys may not know what they want. They are at the stage of soul searching. They may not be ready to take such a major decision by themselves. Some may be homosexual. Pre-teenage boys can be easily confused by their raging hormones. Thus, it is not the right age for them to decide whether they should undergo a sex-change operation. In fact, these boys should undergo a process of psychological testing to prepare themselves and to ensure they are ready for castration. But as it turns out, many clinics offer this service without testing their readiness. The Medical Council has yet to introduce regulations to control these clinics, even though this has been an issue for some time. The council should speed up issuing the regulations to control these clinics instead of waiting until complaints arise. This trend shows the close relationship between the medical service and business. There are advertisements for this kind of service on websites (the surgery can be as cheap as Bt4,000). Some doctors try to persuade the boys to have second thoughts before deciding to castrate, and provide information about the impact of castration. The warning from Natee Theerarojjanaphon, a well-known gay activist, should help some boys to be more cautious before taking such a major decision.

Bangkok clinic invites patients for castration

More than 3,000 clinics in Bangkok and around 100 private hospitals have been told by the Public Health Ministry has banned unauthorised castrations.Provincial publichealth offices will tell clinics and hospitals there. The ban is in place until further notice, deputy permanent secretary Phiphat Yingsayree says. The Medical Council and the ministry will try to make a conclusion on the matter. Clinic owners are entitled to appeal within 30 days. There are around 10,000 clinics and 300 private hospitals in the country.A doctor with a local government clinic in Chiang Mai says he estimates thousands of gay men undergo castration at private clinics. He first encountered the demand three years ago when two male crossdressers came to him for the operation. He says the men developed muscle weakness after surgery.Dr Thep Wetchawisit of the Pratu Nam Polyclinic in Bangkok, who admits performing hundreds of castrations, will defy the directive and calls on anyone who wants to be castrated to come to him."I want them to be happy with what they want to be, and will remove their unwanted organs," he adds.Dr Thep says the ministry should ban the surgical removal of breasts from gay women, to promote equality among gay people. The doctor says he's removed the breasts of many women, including some younger than 20.Bell, a 17yearold transgender, says he's opposed to the directive, saying it violates his right to choose. He says it prevents him from having his testicles removed, He will undergo a full sexchange operation in the next three years.Daily Express

Also the Thai Medical Association passed guidelines regarding treatment of ts, that make it a requirement that there is psychological evaluation done before any surgery or hormone treatment takes place. However, of course some doctors may relax this requirement if the patient has sufficient funds to do so. Regardless of that, it has reduced the numbers of patients getting castration done.

Forgot to say thanks for the detailed replies to my questions Spyder Rocket. The New Half scene in Japan is quite different than the LB scene in Thailand, and societal differences are also quite interesting.

It's great to have more insight into Japan from someone who has experienced it  like you have!

The name on the box is Yuki Miyagi 宮城ゆうき

I don't know if she works in Deri Heru or not.

I just watched it. The first 10min they filmed the makeup for Yuki Miyagi. Judging from how he acted, it looked like his first time in a dress. Pretty much a newcomer then.

The box says he is 19 years old, so yes, a newcomer for AV work.

From what little I can extract from the box cover, the series is about " beauty boys" or dressing them up.

I think it is a safe bet to assume that there is a bit of acting going on.

Hi there,

I've been a silent follower of this forum since its inception in lb-69 site and I must say that it has been great!  I will finally have a chance of getting to Tokyo for a couple of days next week and would like to give the Newhalf seen a go.

Does anyone have any recommendations ? Miran and Rui Matsushita looks hot! Has anyone tried them?  Are their agencies foreigner friendly?

Also how much cost am I actually looking at? Reading through the threads and also trying to decipher some of the agency sites, I am getting around the range of 20,000 to 25,000 yen for an hour total? Are there any extra charges for delivery to the hotel?

Apologise if this sort of question isn't allowed (its been sometime since I logged in).  Please delete the post if it is.

Thanks

You'll avoid any extra charges for transport if you use one of their recommended love hotels, or just got to their shop. They usually don't add extra charges as long as you are in the same ward as their shop.

You have the price about right, sometimes there is a nomination fee for the superstars, but the system of charges and fees varies from shop to shop. Also, it can be difficult getting a booking for very popular girls.

Like I have said earlier in the thread, it really depends on who answers the phone when you call for a booking. I say call and try if you see someone on the menu you like, it isn't like you'll bust into flames if they hang up on you. :) Just try another place if they do.

Re:Fusion has a booking system in English, it is called Tokyo Shemale Club off the main menu. http://www.refu.jp

Also, you can always find a Japanese person to call and book for you, provided you know someone.

If not, you could go out to a mix club (gay/striaght bar) and make friends with someone who might be willing to call for you.

You can't be a shy person doing that, but I've found that it rarely pays in life to be timid.

Good luck and let us know how you do!
