I know exactly what you mean, eslmiker, and DD has by far the best in town. Most of the other places, including the "country club", have basically just instant coffee.

Macman,

I don't know how you can live in the provinces of PI (Leyte I think you are)?

If it is Leyte I've been a few times and can't wait to leave but get the same feeling in somewhere like New Zealand, too small and too parochial.

Having said that I guess its like choice of GG's and LB's, each to their own and if we all wanted the same there would be big problems!

I wish you the very best of luck and certainly sounds like you are a happy man, which many search for but few find.

If you venture to the metropolis (Manila) and fancy a beer and expat chat let us know.

Good luck.

You're right, Philts. It's Leyte. I know what you mean about the provinces. If it weren't for being able to get to Cebu once in a while, I'd probably go nuts, but they say, "home is where the heart is," and this is where Angel is. :D

The other day we had 2 birthdays to attend; one for Angel's aunt, and the other for my godson (Angel's cousin's son). We were shopping for a high chair, and the salesgirl asked Angel if it was for her child. She replied that she wishes that it were so, but that she can't bear children. The girl then asked if she was a ladyboy. When Angel said she was, the girl apologized. I had walked away at that point to look at something else, but I heard them chatting away and laughing. I know that Angel was flattered to be mistaken for a gg.

As for getting to Manila, I'll let you know, but I doubt if we will get up there. Actually, when I go back to New York for a visit in October, Angel is going to spend a week in Manila with a friend. When I come back here, my older son is coming back with me for a 3-week visit. We're all looking forward to that.

Macman, your thread is thoroughly enjoyable reading Sir, not sure many of us whom post on this forum are capable of pulling off what you are embracing over there in the Philippines
May I sincerely wish Angel & Yourself many happy more moments of love and laughter.

Thanks, Arsonist. I appreciate that. It's only been 15 months now, but it feels so natural. I have to admit that it's Angel and her personality that makes this thing work. She's one of the nicest, kindest and loving persons I've ever met, and it's just a pleasure to be around her. She wins over everyone she meets. Thanks again for your kind wishes.

Nice to hear romance ain't dead in your neck of the woods mate. :D

While most of us are happy with Miss Right Now I am finding myself envious of your steady relationship and your obvious commitment.

My hope of Lub has never been successful as not once has an LB got up in the morning and made me a nice cup of tea.

Any plans of a return visit to LoS coming up? 8)

Petesie said,

I'm not sure if it's an Angel thing or a Filipina thing, but she pampers me like crazy. I'm really spoiled now. :D

I'm not sure about upcoming trips to LOS, Petesie. I have a couple of New York trips planned (this coming October and next May), and Angel and I talked about possibly visiting Singapore. I'd also love to visit Australia and New Zealand, although I'm not sure about any Filipino ladyboy visa prohibitions.

BTW, last night we got hit with an earthquake (magnitude 7.6 or 7.9, depending on what site you look at). Strange, but it made the both of us dizzy. One of Angel's friends in Cebu posted the same thing on Facebook. I never really heard anyone mention that as an effect. I guess it's because we experienced more of a rolling than a shaking sensation. I also felt nauseous. No damage or injuries in our town.

Macman,

Was the earthquake at about 8.45pm?

Yes, it was, Philts. It was fairly close to us. It was not a nice feeling, I'll tell you that. I was upstairs, lying on the bed watching TV, and Angel was downstairs, sitting on the floor by the coffee table doing her Facebook stuff. I felt the bed heaving, and got up to ask Angel if she felt it. As I started down the stairs, I had to sit down on them because they were rocking. My son in New York told me that he didn't hear any mention of it, probably because there was not a lot of damage and only one casualty, as far as I know.

"home is where the heart is," and this is where Angel is.

Brilliant! Angel is lovely. Glad to hear all is well and no effects from the earthquake (aside from the shaking, etc,).

As for Angel being able to converse with people - I couldn't believe how quickly Angel clicked with the dancers at the bar we visited.

You're a lucky man and I am happy for both of you!
Old, cantankerous, and sorry if I piss you off - well, not really. Just enjoy!

Thanks, TL. I am indeed lucky. BTW, TL, that was another time that Angel felt flattered; when the hostess whispered to her, "You know this is a ladyboy bar," and Angel said, "I'm a ladyboy too." She was so happy when the hostess expressed surprise.

I hope all is well with you. The last time we spoke you were going with a nice gg.

Even though I experienced it last year, it still came as somewhat of a shock when the Christmas songs and carols started on September 1st. This morning I was sitting in Dunkin' Donuts after my round of golf, and they were playing "Frosty the Snowman" over the loud speaker. It was strange to hear that song after just having sweat my ass off and shortly after the American holiday of Labor Day.
