Heard a news item on pattaya radio(96fm) a couple of hours ago,but missed the start. It spoke of (local?)officials, possibly the mayor, but it definately mentioned City Hall,Pattaya Nua,also about vehicle(s),troops from Sattahip naval base. They then gave an emergency number to call, but not sure for what.
Anyone else any idea what it was relevant to? Is anything going on here that would need troops?

Curfew lifted in Pattaya at 7pm tonight. That will have been the radio newsflash about the meeting at City Hall with the mayor and the Army. They say the rest of Chonburi is still on a state of emergency.
One good thing at least I can go out and watch the Blackpool play-off final tomorrow night against Cardiff.Come on the Seasiders!

As written above the Mayor indeed decided to lift the Curfew for Pattaya City and it was all back to business yesterday at least in Soi 6 until the late hours ...

Just in time for the football matches for tonight ...

The curfew on Pattaya City was lifted yesterday. You will be likely be swarmed with lb and ggs looking for customers as there are hardly any tourists due to recent events.

Here is a video for those who may not understand the connection between Thaksin, the Red Shirts and what happened.

Pattaya has been crazy busy so far tonight.

The roads around Beach and 2nd have been choc-a-bloc since early afternoon. I haven't seen it this busy since the last day of Song Kra.

Everyone seems to be coming to Pattaya for the weekend to let their hair down, which can't be bad for the bars and businesses at this time.

Thanks for sharing tht vid RX, the comments on YT are quite interesting to read as well. Very disturbing in all. Hope BKK rises out of the ash. Must be v.difficult for the Thai people. Either way, yellow or red.

Great vid rx. Lot of anger there.

Very informative to have the inflammatory words of the instigators as well as Thaksin's address to the crowd translated, thanks.

It will be interesting to see what happens to those guys in the aftermath. I saw a report that people were scandalized to see them in "detention" at a state-run guesthouse - posing for group pictures as if they were at a graduation ceremony.
