Here is the Bell web site.

The Bell Bus leaves the airport on even hours.

The Jomtien Bus leaves on odd hours. It also will drop you off on Sukhumvit at Pattaya Klang or Pattaya Nua.

So lets say one is staying at the Mosaik or LK Pavillion which I know are favorites of many board members. You buy your ticket for 124 baht on the ground floor at Gate 8 which is right next to the lowest price food court I^ve ever seen at any airport.

Get off at Sukhumvit and Pattaya Tai and then cross on the overpass to the beach side of Sukhumvit. On Pattaya Tai there is a queue of baht buses which leaves when filled but the wait is only a few minutes cause there^s a big shopping mall nearby. Get off at TukCom and pay 10 baht, total trip 134 baht.

Note there is a 19:00 bus though it^s not listed on the website, I know cause I^ve taken it twice. The bus is actually roomier than the Bell Bus.

I usually travel direct from BK airport on arrival to Patts with either Mr Toom or PT taxis. In 10 days I'm going straight into Nana and looking to prebook a car to the hotel. The Dynasty Grande have quoted me 1200 bht so I'm interested in a reliable contact if anybody knows of one. Trawled through the suggestions here to no avail.

Thanks :tada:

Metered taxis from the airport always turn the meter on, unlike going back to the airport. The fare including Aiport surcharge (50bht) and tolls (65bht) is between 250 -350bht, depending on the time of day.
There really is no need to seek alternative transport.

If however you do like everyone with experiences do... go to upper floor where departures are and pick metered taxi that waits after passengers were dropped off... you can get metered taxi minus fees mentioned... just dont forget to ask if it is metered.

Aiport to Pattaya, you obviously save a lot of time and money with a qucik email to pre-book a taix, but for Aiport to Sukhumvit journies, it would be very hard to find a pre booked taxi that would offer a price close to a metered taxi.

Thank you for the responses.

I will just evade the entrance chaos as you leave arrivals and head to the taxis. Just had drama with drivers there before with the meter situation and their constant, boring touting of other tourist services they offer. :redcard:
The plan is
PATS 21/3 to 29/3
BK 29/3 to 5/4

The Jomtien Bus mentioned by Swine Canine continues onto Pattaya proper after Jomtien ?

If I got the this bus to Sukhumvit / Nua is there a baht bus along Nua to Pattaya Rd 2 ?

OK I to answer my own question I guess the bus comes south down Sukhumvit hitting Pattaya before Jomtien.

Any info on a baht bus along Nua towards the beach would be appreciated.

I traveled by bus for the first time 2 weeks ago, Bkk-Pattaya, return Pattaya- Suvarnahumi Airport.

1. Took Sukhumvit sky train to Ekamai Station, 25 baht. Walk into the bus station next to the sky train, buy VIP bus ticket, no stops to Pattaya, 113 baht. Leave about 20 minutes later, smooth ride, nice nap! Get off at Pattaya North bus station, end of route, board a baht bus for 20 baht, directly down Pattaya Nua to Beach road and get off at the soi. Piece of cake!

2. Leaving Pattaya to Suvarnahumi, booked the bus with Bell Bus Service. They picked me up with a van at the hotel, and took me to Pattaya North bus station, transferred to a large VIP type bus. The trip to the airport was only 1hour, 5 minutes, another nice nap. Only 200 baht total.

I will definitely do this again.

If Mr.T & the likes simply aren't cutting it, perhaps this service being offered by the Devil's Den will be more satisfactory;

The term "on route" will never be the same again... :D

Changes coming soon which will prevent arriving passengers from going to level 4 (depatures) to catch a taxi.

As reported in Sept. 29, 2012 issue of the Bangkok Post. In order to reduce the number of unlicensed taxis and tour guide touts, they will be installing 1 way doors on level 4, the arrivals area. This will prevent anyone from going out to catch a taxi dropping off departing passengers, and saving the 50 Baht Airport surcharged that licensed taxis must pay and pass on to their passengers.

Sounds like a health & safety issue; if there's a fire unless the doors are linked into the emergency system and open automatically when the alarm goes off then there is a problem...all to nab the odd 50 baht.
