8) Congratulations are in order. Cool. Make sure to post some wedding shots and give us some more details when the happy day for you and her approaches. Maybe some BM's could attend the ceremoney in her village so you aren't the only farang.

Make sure you send soem shots from the UK as the first one to do this. A blueprint of your process in getting this arrangement will also come in handy for all the other guys who are dreaming to be in your shoes.

where are you registered?

Thanks for your kind comments should do the village ceremony after the 9th December when she will be 21 . My Visa contact has never done a same sex visa but he is the only registered visa consultant to the British Embassy we all learn someting new dont we will send info in a few months when she is the UK no face pics though I have my reasons

No problem dude, we understand.
... but a few cock & leg pics wouldn't hurt... right lads?

All joking aside, best of luck.

p.s. Foreigners cannot own land in Thailand. You can pay for it, but it will have to be registered in a Thai name, in other words, you have zero rights.

james2035, if you call giving you advice about the proper way to proceed when your highly paid visa consultant did not even know same sex marriage is not officially recognized in Thailand, then I guess we should have stayed quiet and watch you lose 2000 pounds doing it the wrong way! :loco:

You cannot compare trying to bring over a Thai gg with bringing over a Thai lb to the UK - its a completely different process.

I disagree with that Rx, but I am not talking from experience re: a Thai ladyboy.
However I have been through this process for a Thai female.

If the British Embassy were found to be sexist by failing to treat a ladyboy with their entitled rights as a person then they may find themselves with a case on their hands, as what takes place inside the British Embassy is under British law. All persons have the same right to apply for a visa and will be given the same opportunity of success, regardless of gender. Afterall, the UK recognises same sex marriages and the same will apply with regard to the intent of the visa applicant regardless of sexual status.

General:
It is the Thai who is making the application for a visa. If the farang attends the Embassy for his/her interview he will not be welcome inside, as it's nothing to do with him as far as the Embassy is concerned. The farang may assist the Thai applicant in the preparation but they do not make the application on their behalf. Only if it is a spousal, fiancee or marriage visa does the farang get involved with evidence of support for the application, even then he is not required in the interview room as the visa is not for him.

i do not know the ins and outs of this, but what i do know, is that it seems relatively easy for thais to travel to switzerland, deutschland, belguim ect, however it is a lot more difficult to get into the uk, and the amount of red tape is unbelievable, IMHO if it was just for a holiday i could not be bothered with all the hastle, much easier for me to just go to los instead

Unfortunately that is the case.

The UK is not part of the Schengen group of countries, which is pretty much all the rest of Europe.

Britain is such a pain in the fucking arse and there are many things about this country I despise.

dixon cox - I should have used the words much more difficult.

Yes, you are right that the UK now recognizes same sex civil partnership - the major problem with trying to bring a Thai lb in on a marriage visa is that the marriage must have legal status in the country she is applying from - therein lies the rub. As of this moment Thailand does not legally recognize same sex marriage or civil partnership - therefore you cannot bring an lb partner over on a marriage visa since you are not legally married. This has nothing to do with discrimination - it has to do with the legal status of the marriage for the marriage visa application.

Now, trying to bring her in on a fiancee visa - I'm not sure if the UK has this type of visa or not, "may" be possible.

It is ironic that UK welcomes so may refugees, but makes it exceedingly difficult to bring in an lb partner.

My lb of choice has just picked up her 6 month tourist visa for the UK today. Iam not sure if my tears are of joy or fear.

But we found it quite easy to do, we didnt use an agency as after a couple of chats with them they all seem to be on the scam. For some reason they all told me that a tourist visa was not a viable option and we should go for a civil partnership visa. Fuck that i want her on holiday not for life.

The main things they are looking for is an invitation from a sponsor who can prove he can support the costs of visit and a reason for the applicant to have to return home, job or college.

So it can be done, but have to admit i was only playing along with it and didnt think it would happen.

Now ive gotta to try and explain me new girlfriend at the family christmas dinner lol

But the application is not being made in Thailand per se, it is being made within the British Embassy, where British law applies.
