Prior to that I had simply been using the private cars available from the hotel, such as the Dynasty Grande.
I haven't had any problem so far with Mr T, aside from being 15-20 minutes late one time, but they did ring me on my mobile to say they were on the way.
The private cars from the hotels were generally a little more luxurious, but they were starting to cost me close enough to 2000 Baht for a trip from Bangkok to Pattaya or vice versa.
Mr T is literally half that.
Not sure why Petesie experienced such a horror run.
Cheers

Would be interesting to know if Petesie had conformations. I felt that something was wrong because I had no conformation Email.
Wonder if a 1400B service is any better than a 1000B service? They are all good until one of them doesn't show to pick you up.

I never had any trouble with Mr. T until this trip. I sent him an Email probably later than I should. But he usually gets back to me fast. When I was one connection away from BKK I still didn't have a reply so had someone on the ground here call him. As I understand it his Email was down for about four days toward the end of November.

The major drama was in November last month, when booked and confirmed by email well in advance the driver drove to Bangkok instead of Pattaya. Destination Dynasty Inn,Pattaya but driver, who just kept smiling and nodding despite my strong protestations just could not understand and was heading to Dynasty Inn,Bangkok. Almost got there too as I could not raise Mr T on the phone. In the end jumped out and got a local to explain and eventually got Mr T on the line. A quick trip lasted 3 and 3/4 hours as late Saturday night in downtown BK is not fun.
On the way back thought I had a young guy who understood destination Majestic Grande,BK. Not so Marriott he said and just would not take not so for an answer. In disgust I got out there and walked down the street to the Majestic. I actually shouted at him when we left Pattaya that if he took me off track I would not pay him as I was still steamed up about the previous episode. Embarrassed my lb waver-offer at the time who said..You cannot speak to Thai people that way! Sorry honey me bad.
Should I look at somebody else when booking ahead?
PATS 21/3 to 29/3
BK 29/3 to 5/4

Going back I generally just book with whichever taxi tout is closest to my hotel - 800 plus tolls pretty standard. Never had a problem other than myself being too wasted and sleeping thru my wake-up call...

Just did a trip with one of Mr. T's drivers today. Nana Hotel to Pattaya 1000B all in.
Looks like you were lucky xyzzy, I think I'll be trying another company when in LOS.. Used them often and they were good.
Details are below if any of you lads are interested..
