Do you mean that bringing A$ in cash and change them to Baht in los, gives you a better exchange rate than bringing your debet/credit card and withdraw bath from a atm in los?
if that is the case it sound strange, but I will understand why you bring cash.
And I do like Rossco transfer money to my Bangkok Bank acc, but sometimes I haven transfer enough, or miss budged the holiday, so then I use my Norwegian card in atms.

Yes Kinkoy thats correct (after conferring with my records) anything between .50 to 1.25 baht better exch. rate per A$ and my bank charges a FX Fee which makes cash exchange even better....I used to use credit card early in the peace but found when i got home and saw my statment and compared rates it is better this way ...Cheers Donnykey

The Thai Baht follows the US$, check your £ against the $ and I think you will see that has moved acordingly.
In that case, the US dollar needs a major slump before xmas, or else im stuck in blighty :!:
Reading the earlier article in CNN on this thread and trying to understand this situation -
Is there an anticipation that the US dollar will slide now in value - thus devaluing linked currencies such as THB?
Another day on the US stocks being hit - but no reflection on the strength of the currency. Its a bastard !

without the additional hassle of visiting exchange booths/ATM's.
It takes a maximum of 2 minutes to change money or use the ATM on the airport. Thats no hassle for me. And it doesnt make sense to change baht already in your homecountry, the exchange rates are far more worse compares to LOS.

It never happened that i have 30k Baht left when i leave the country! How you do that?
