Day 12

The sweetheart from last night left around Midday, giving me an opportunity to catch up on my e-mails and the various forums.
A little later, headed to Villa Market for a khao pad gy (chicken fried rice) & phad pug ruam mit. (stir fried mixed vegetables). Welcome to speaking Thai 101. :D

A friend from Melbourne had sent me an sms a few days back requesting I investigate Sandy Spring Hotel in Soi 13 on his behalf, so I made my way over and checked out the various rooms and confirmed room rates for the X-mas / New Year period when he planned to vist. Sandy Spring seemed like another decent option for accommodation, especially with La Bamba & Stringfellows so close by. (standard room photos below).

Here's the deal regarding room rates at Sandy Spring:

Standard = 1390
Deluxe = 1600
Suite = 2800

From the 25/12/08 to the 15/01/09 there is a surcharge of 500 / night on all room types.

Returned to the hotel, then onto Soi 6 to visit So What Bar and pick up a CD-Rom of photos from Hansi, featuring some of the ladyboys from the bar modelling fetish wear. Followed up with a few drinks at Pooks Bar.

(sample photo below, remainder of the set via the following link)

I stayed at Sandy Springs and can confirm its very ladyboy friendly, the staff was very nice, and the rooms are clean and basic. They also have a great pool on the 4th floor. I really enjoyed my stay there.

Day 14

Nan departed around midday, and after getting myself organized and sending some laundry away, headed to MBK centre via taxi for some shopping, (taxi to MBK from the hotel was 65 Baht). I normally would have taken the Sky Train, but was feeling a little lazy, so decided a taxi would do the trick.

A visit to MBK is always on the agenda at the end of any trip, and after all these years, I know exactly what I want and where to find it, which saves plenty of time given the size of the place. Bought myself a few T-shirts, a couple of pairs of jeans, and some Thai CDs & DVDs.

Day 14 cont...

Returned to the hotel to find Thegame925 had checked in, and left his room number at reception. Gave him a quick call on the hotel phone, and arranged to meet him and fellow LB-69 forum member LBs4me in the lobby around 7pm for dinner.

Had a nice dinner at Seven Seas, a new Seafood restaurant, located right on the corner of Sukhumvit Soi 4 & 6. The servings weren’t enormous, but the service was efficient and the food fresh & tasty.

Headed to Nana Plaza, starting off with a visit to Obsessions, where there was a nice selection of talent about still being early in the night. Moved upstairs to Cascades, where again a decent selection were gyrating on the large dance area.

LBs4me had earlier barfined someone from Obsessions, and Thegame925 wanted to return to Obsessions to do likewise. I left thegame925 to do his thing, and headed over to Guess Bar, for one of Gong’s trademark Gin & Tonics. Chatted with a few ladyboys in the bar, but couldn’t make up my mind what I wanted.

Socrates & TTChang dropped by briefly, and a few other characters drifted in and out.

* A few of KK's Candids from Guess Bar.... :D
