some good responses.
another argument i like to throw at people who question my life style is this.
what if thailand was only 1 hour away from your home country.?
with a return ticket costing £40.00

would you settle for a fat wife and kids then?

seems to me, the main thing stopping everyone from enjoying the facilities of thailand is the distance and finance involved.
therefore, it could seem self centred if i focus my finances on being used for thailand trips. but only beacause it takes a lot of money to afford a trip.
but what if it was affordable for everyone?

think 90% of uk men would be there every weekend instead of jumping through hoops for a second hand single mum with a lifestyle paid for with credit cards, waiting for some prick to pick up the tab.

with regards to ambition, i am living the life i dreamt of.
i work for myself so i can take holidays when i like.
my focus is self centred in the way that my life comes before anyone elses.
that dosent mean i have a "bad heart".
more that ive got an open mind to whats going on around me and making my own choices to how i want to live. not how im "supposed " to.
but in fairness, some people have an ambition to have kids.
just, im not one of them.
"im sure if u look around u can find a sunken face under caloried 10 year vet tranny bar girl, her face might not be as uniquely sunken or her ass dents so dented but just have a look, life is full of options." - boomdraw.

Long may my lifestyle continue, I'm divorced with no kids, wonderful.

2 months in LOS in less than 2 weeks from now.

This is the best time of my life.

Well that 2 weeks is now up and I'm leaving my house in about 2 minutes.

2 months of my chosen lifestyle... Here I come 8)

Enjoy your trip DC mate.
As kids we're not taught how to deal with success; we're taught how to deal with failure. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. If at first you succeed, then what?

This is a very interesting thread for me and I totally agree with most posts. However one thing that prays on my mind a lot lately is how alienated from "normal" society my hobby has made me. With the exception of a close friend and fellow board members I talk about my passion for LBs to nobody. Also, I find I have less and less interest in socialising with lifelong friends because their lifestyle bores me to tears. When they start talking about their kids or a bigger house or a holiday to Spain my eyes glaze over.
The other side of this is that many people start to wonder what makes me tick (nosey fuckers). They see what I could potentially have; wife, kids, etc, and question why I don't want it.
"He must be gay"
"Maybe he's a pedo"
"He's off his fuckin head"
I know they must think these things. I'm the odd one out in society not them. Everything is geared around getting married and having kids and if your not with the programme what are you with?

I realise I shouldn't give a fuck what others think and the best thing to do would be to shout it from the roof tops. But it grates on me that these pathetic, bland, judgemental bastards will find my lifestyle a great source amusement and ridicule.

I have had a few people ask me if I was into "little boys over there"?

I usually just laugh it off - as distasteful as their attempt at humour is.

On a few occasions I told people to stop joking about it - that may be what they are into,.. but I am all legal. 18 is young enough.

"because their lifestyle bores me to tears. When they start talking about their kids or a bigger house or a holiday to Spain my eyes glaze over. "

I hear you. My peers tell me about their trip to Disneyland with the kids. I tell them about "Disneyland for adults".

I now have the problem that not having a Thai wife I can no longer use her as a reason to go to Thailand for Hols. I will just have to say something like "I was married to one for nearly tens years so I like being in Thailand" It has also become very hard at work to not tell people to piss off when they start making comments.

My mum and sister seem to be trying to break me of the obsession that I have in Thailand .
My sister said something about me liking the little Thai Ladies , I replied that I now like the Tall ones (with cocks) I really felt like telling her . Not now but maybe one day I will.

I was wondering something, do you guys have no other ambitions in life then getting of with lb, because it comes to me like some of you just go for the money for a trip to thailand. This is not to offend people, and maybe I am oversimplifing it, but so it seems to me, like as if some of you have become verry superficial.

By other ambition I mean, being more than being just an avarage jo, not working for the money but to achive something. Maybye another ambition is to find 'true love'. Sounds maybe verry soft, but if you have no other goals in life than going for a short moment of fun every year, maybe 'you are missing out' (like mentioned earlyer by someones ex) on the other things in life.

Not that I say everyone who posted here is superficial, but I wondered about this aspect.

Ambition to become CEO of a Fortune 500 company, no thank you. Or what about my ambition to learn another language (I speak 2 maybe 3 at a push), though if I discussed my ambitions other than to get with Tiffany girls I would bore the F**k out of you. Time and place for everything.

Ambition and attitudes towards LOS, LB and relationships are compleetly non-related. I'm not exactly sure what your point is smilodon03, or what you mean(?).

We all have different levels of ambition, people here come from different backgrounds, different career paths, different priorities, morale and ethical values etc etc...

Amition to find 'true love' is not really an ambition at all, and if it was your goal, you'd be a very sad man to travel to LOS for this, it would be a form of suicide. You may as well get 'I am a MUG' tattooed on your forehead, just to speed things up.

I think you are oversimplifying and making a broad generalization (never good things, in my opinion).

I think if you were to get to know a cross section of the members of this forum, you will find a very broad range of people.

Other ambitions, you say? Such as? Curing cancer (maybe one of our guys is working on it), brokering peace in the middle east (who knows), writing the next great novel (could be), educating the masses (you betcha, we are). Get my point?

There are highly educated, very successful people here (who don't only work jobs to earn money to come to LOS). There are captains of industry, academics, business owners, factory guys, salesmen, physicians, techies, accountants and virtually discipline in between.

Some of us fly airplanes (for fun), climb mountains, sit on board of directors for nonprofits, read to the blind, speak 7 languages, are founders of companies, travel the world (as non sex tourists).

There are guys who are in long term relationships, but have the desire to get something they are lacking at home.

There are guys who have "been there, done that" with conventional relationships, and prefer the more relaxed environment of LOS.

There are guys that do both, do neither and everything in between.

Most here don't pass judgement and are quite accepting.

For me. I've been a "poster child" for ambition for most of my life, and still manage to maintain the appropriate "balance" (for me anyway) between my LOS experiences, and the rest of my life.

Your mileage may vary.

I agree with the staments above ... Iam in my case speak 5 languages (spanish, english, portugese, french and thai), professional working for a foreign company with a very big salary, lived in 4 diffeent countries in the last 4 years, only 29 yearsold, own 2 houses, travelled/travelling everywhere from Spain to Japan and From Nowray to Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego in Argentina .... and YES I LIKE LBs and not, is not my only reason to live, but certainly is an important part of it! ...

I guess everybody comes from different backgrounds ....

On the marry / kids thing .... yes... I am not interested at all ... and yes, people that do it and tell me about it every minute .. bored me the hell out of it!
