I was wondering something, do you guys have no other ambitions in life then getting of with lb, because it comes to me like some of you just go for the money for a trip to thailand. This is not to offend people, and maybe I am oversimplifing it, but so it seems to me, like as if some of you have become verry superficial.
By other ambition I mean, being more than being just an avarage jo, not working for the money but to achive something. Maybye another ambition is to find 'true love'. Sounds maybe verry soft, but if you have no other goals in life than going for a short moment of fun every year, maybe 'you are missing out' (like mentioned earlyer by someones ex) on the other things in life.
I think you are oversimplifying and making a broad generalization (never good things, in my opinion).
I think if you were to get to know a cross section of the members of this forum, you will find a very broad range of people.
Other ambitions, you say? Such as? Curing cancer (maybe one of our guys is working on it), brokering peace in the middle east (who knows), writing the next great novel (could be), educating the masses (you betcha, we are). Get my point?
There are highly educated, very successful people here (who don't only work jobs to earn money to come to LOS). There are captains of industry, academics, business owners, factory guys, salesmen, physicians, techies, accountants and virtually discipline in between.
Some of us fly airplanes (for fun), climb mountains, sit on board of directors for nonprofits, read to the blind, speak 7 languages, are founders of companies, travel the world (as non sex tourists).
There are guys who are in long term relationships, but have the desire to get something they are lacking at home.
There are guys who have "been there, done that" with conventional relationships, and prefer the more relaxed environment of LOS.
There are guys that do both, do neither and everything in between.
Most here don't pass judgement and are quite accepting.
For me. I've been a "poster child" for ambition for most of my life, and still manage to maintain the appropriate "balance" (for me anyway) between my LOS experiences, and the rest of my life.
Your mileage may vary.
