Koykaeng, thanks for the information - actually if this is correct, this is a revival for the Blue Moon Cabaret. I first visited Chiang Mai in 1996 and discovered the Blue Moon - they had some of the most beautiful showgirls working there. We know CM lbs are quite lovely and back then they preferred to stay in CM and work Blue Moon instead of going to Pattaya or Bangkok.

It changed to a nightclub around 2000, but if your information is right it may have been revived, possibly because of the demise of Simon Chiang Mai Cabaret.

Looking forward to your report!

Found this information, which I thought was interesting given that Simon Cabaret had closed it's doors last year.

Not sure how old this information is, or whether the place still exists, but will be in Chiang Mai in a few weeks to review the scene.

Blue Moon Cabaret Chiang Mai
5/3 Moon Muang Road
Chiang Mai

The Blue Moon Cabaret is Chiang Mai's top most cabaret club. Any day this cabaret club is full of colors, vibrancy and great fun. With superb song and dance extravaganza, the Blue Moon is also the most visited cabaret clubs around Chiang Mai. With beautiful artists dancing to soothing music, make sure you do not fall for any of them as these dancers are not women but MEN!! The ambience of the place is very casual and hence very warm as well. And this is what makes this hangout a tourist friendly spot.

The Blue Moon Cabaret club offers yummy snacks and beer to gorge and guzzle. Since this cabaret club is a great place to hang out and is also very happening, it is recommended that you go to this club making prior reservation. This would help you to avoid unnecessary hassles in the eleventh hour.

The average cost of admission to the club is THB 100. And the show time begins from 9 pm and 10:30 pm in the night daily from Monday to Sunday. The option of paying the bill via credit card is available but only on Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

Cheers

Well unfortunately I was completely wrong about this venue. :?

As Rxpharm suggested, it closed many years ago, and sadly has not been revived.

The only cabaret format in Chiang Mai I am aware of currently is the travelling variety that perform at a the beer bar complexes (often using a boxing ring as a stage), and incorporate the gay venues.

KK, thanks for the CM update and again another great trip report! It is too bad the Blue Moon has not been revived, the lbs there were true beauties, rivaling the best Tiffany and Alcazar lovelies!

Great report KK you are certainly a slave to your passion. I feel i could get out of the airport get a cold beer and a warm LB blindfolded and i am sure this report has put CM on the radar of many BM's that may not have bothered in the past.
Cheers :D :D

Thought these links to MAPJACK would be helpful for those wanting to locate the Chiang Mai Entertainment Centre, the home to Marina Bar & Shamrock Pub.

May not be Nana Plaza, but this is Chiang Mai after all !
