I think that may be the lb cabaret in the Night Bazaar, hopefully someone can confirm. There used to be a Simon Cabaret (same group as in Phuket), with a unique outdoor theatre, but it closed in 2007. Found another Youtube clip that confirms it is the lb cabaret in the Night Bazzar (Night Market), which was posted Nov. 18/14

Might want to move these last posts about the Cabaret in CM as they have nothing to do with The Shamrock Bar.
This thread might be more appropriate: Chaing Mai Ladyboy Scene and General info
I'm in Chaing Mai this week so I will try to update The Shamrock Bar and if time and my stomach allows I'll take in a Cabaret Show.

The whole show is worth watching, especially if you are into Thai Food.
Almost lost me when he spoke about enjoying eating something out "of Chris Christie's jock strap" but watched the whole thing. I've got to book a trip...

The people who run the LB cabaret in Anusarn Night Bazaar have now reopened the theater where Simon Cabaret was before (near the Mercure hotel off Chang Phuak Road). Now they have an early show in that theater + a later show in Anusarn. I think the early show in the theater is targeted at Chinese and other Asian tour groups. The outdoor Anusarn cabaret sells alcohol and is more for farangs.

I went to the one in Anusarn Night Bazaar last night. The show now starts at 9:30, but ran late while they tried to rustle in a few last customers. The post the entertainers out in the night market handing out a promo slip. It's 200 baht for admittance which gets your first drink free. The ladyboy servers will ask for a tip. The Beers range from 100 Chaing beer all the way up to a Heineken for 150. Cocktails and spirits are from 200 to 300 baht. The show itself is less than an hour which is okay by me. Be preparred to see a few gay boys in the act though. They have one bit that has an entertainer that has her face done in female and male halves. Wears a suit on one half and dress on the other. Quite an act how she pulls it off. Also a bit to Frank Sinatra's "My Way" where a ladyboy goes from woman to man during the song including stripping off her make up and clothes down to just underwear.
After the show ends the staff runs outside as you leave the area for photos and tips. They had a decent crowd last night, I would say just under 50 people. Pretty much Night Bazaar patrons.
I took a ladyboy here who had never been. she really enjoyed it. She mentioned they had another Cabaret and pointed out where it was today when we were in town on motorbike. It wasn't by the Mecure though.
I also took some video and some photos. The quality isn't that good because of my old camera, the lighting, and smoke machine. I'll try to load some of the better ones later if their are some.

I would recommend taking a ladyboy to the show. It's inexpensive at 200 baht each, and they will enjoy it, which makes it tolerable. It's not a bad act. They weren't to pushy for tips, but you can expect some shakedowns throughout from the servers.

Thanks for the Chiang Mai cabaret report ASJ! Always good to hear about more lb venues. Would be interesting to know if their second location is actually the old Simon Cabaret theatre or not. I did see a show there early 2007, before it closed. The theatre was smaller than the one in Phuket, but the semi-outdoor set up made it a nice experience. The performers were great, quite enthusiastic. I heard that a number of the stars moved to Phuket when it shut down.
