TOP INN- 1000 thb per night clean small rooms no view (other than a great lb arse) and the EVER INN-1000 THB per night. This one is across from the Landmark. Both good, clean, and cheap!

I've used the Top Inn several times, great value for money for a quick stay, but they are often busy and the front rooms are a lot nicer than the back rooms.

By Ever Inn, do you mean the Everrich Inn?

Yeah..Im posetive he means the Everrich Inn..oposite Landmark..between soi 5 & 7..

Can highly recommend it for the location & good value for money spent..Definately LB-friendly too 8) ..

Just be aware it can be confusing to find for any "friend" dropping by for a visit..

I usually try a different hotel each trip and prefer to stay closer to Cowboy than Nana, so here's my take on few different hotels....

Town Lodge - Soi 18 - the first hotel I ever stayed at in Bkk. It's main drawback is that it's at the end of the soi and a long walk up to Sukhumvit Rd, they used to have a free tuktuk service but this had ceased last time I stayed there. Otherwise good value for 1200 a night, has a bar attached to it with gg's available.
Room with jacuzzi available for 2500 per night.

Baan Sukhumvit - Soi 20 - Hidden away in a sub soi a boutique hotel in the true sense of the word, well run with friendly farang manager, spotlessly clean, 1650 for a standard room, one of my favourite hotels in Bkk. They've recently opened a sister hotel in Soi 18, a bit pricier and I've yet to try it but would expect the same good standards.

Honey Hotel - soi 19 - cockroach ridden shithole, only redeeming feature is the pool. Probably better options available for 1000 baht.

Grand Business Inn - soi 11 - have stayed here more than any other hotel in Bkk largely for the same reasons mentioned previously by rxpharm. Decided on my last stay in January that I'd probably not stay again though as I'm not fond of the mattresses there. The Thai food from the coffee shop (24hr) is great, however don't expect much from the western options on the menu. Staff are very friendly except the old bitch who runs the show.

Lately I've been staying at the Varindavan Park on Ekkamai 12 near Sukhumvit 71. Well away from the action but excellent value for money at 1600, would pay double for similar hotel around lower Sukhumvit. Only staying there due to proximity to girlfriend's room. I'm thinking of maintaining two residences my next trip, the Varindavan for all relationship activities and another cheapo room near Nana for daytime action whilst the gf is at school.

Anyway, there's my take on a few places off the beaten track, and almost forgot to mention, all these hotels are lb friendly.

Hi
First..... sorry for my english grammar.

Looking for a place to stay in the nana area, but cant see to make up my mind.

Here is the list so far:

Soi5
Amari - to expensive
Bel aire - feeling rippet off when the price is't inkl. tax, vat.
Royal Benja - not bad, but too far in the "one way" soi

Soi 6-4
Landmark - too expensive
Parkway inn - to dirty and smelly

Majestic Suites - maybe

Nana - never
Dynasty inn - great, but no hose
Heidelberg - maybe (never stayed there before)
DIG - great, but no hose
The Dawin - great, but no hose
Omni tower - to many arab familys
Woraburi - maybe, but sometimes they charge joiners fee. Great pool for the price.

Soi 2
Aspen - dont like the stray dogs in the area
Majestic Grande - small room for the price
Marriott - too expensive

Suggestions?

Royal Benja is nice and excellent value at just under 2000 baht. But you have to pay a joiners fee. Is lb friendly.

I've stayed at Majestic Suites twice before and was very happy (hotel being guest/LB friendly).

I'll be heading to BKK again soon and looking for a change. As I'll be heading to Pattaya after BKK, I'm looking for a hotel where I can easily catch/book a cab (drawback of Majestic Suites is that it doesn't have a drive thru and getting a cab can be tough). With my golf gear, it'll be easier to get a hotel with a drive thru. I don't wana drag my gear and trying to get a cab.

Any recommendations (convenient, not to expensive and guest/LB friendly)? I'm thinking of Dynasty Inn.

How about the new Ibis Nana? Any latest updates?

Anyone any experience with the Dream Hotel in Bangkok? Love the look and feel of the place. Located at Sukhumvit 15

Ibis Soi 4

Philips, I stayed there May 2009. 1,000 TBH via internet booking but 2,500 TBH for 'walk-in'. It's new, so very clean and everything works. All rooms are non-smoking. LB friendly and no 'Joiners Fee'. Safe in room. Close Nana. Very good really.
.... so many Joys, so little Time
