Yes, given the stolen passport, why the tourist police weren't involved has always raised questions in my mind. But then, I think, it was the same fella raised the possibility of Palm being underage at the time.

Ok long story short - Palm is with BM. BM want her for long time (a number of days). Thye spend a number of days together and she provides the full GFE. At the end of their time together he feels they are GF and BF. He does not want to pay for serveces. Palm asks for the cash and he says now. Palm asks Noon (her half brother transexual hooker - it could be a Jerry Springer Show) to help. The two take his passport and refuse to return passport until he pays up. He pays up and they return passport. He is now Palms sponsor. It is what it is.

Well at least there is an supposed excuse. But true or not it will keep me away from Palm (formally on my to do list). I do not find Noon attractive so that isn't a problem.

Ultimately, this is all a tempest in a teapot. As far as I can tell, Palm's dance card is well and truly full, and she isn't having any problem finding takers for whatever it is she's offering, and it doesn't appear Noon is starving either. So whether a few guys on here (or even ALL the guys on here) chose to take them again because of the rantings of a pissed-off sponsor aren't really of any impact to the girls whether you'd like it to be or not.

And remember - I'm not interested in fucking either of them. Been there with Palm, it wasn't terribly memorable, and there's too many other fish in the sea for me to want to go back.

What troubles me is this mindless, ignorant attitude - that if someone you've never met was able to find his way to a keyboard and passed all the barriers to entry to join this site (basically able to log in and put in an email address) then you'll believe whatever bullshit he posts about a girl on here. In many cases, that attitude serves us. But in others, it's fucking ridiculous. There are more guys on here that can vouch for Palm and her character due to actually MEETING and SPENDING TIME with her than could EVER be rounded up who've even had a passing acquantance with the pissed-off sponsor, yet you'll gladly take up his banner and run with it, spreading the rumors and stories about her for your own vindictive bullshit.

Guys like Dixon Cox and Petesie that have met and have a dislike for the players involved, that's one thing. They have their own legitimate or perceived reasons for their opinions which they are completely entitled to. But it seems there's a bit of "piling on" by guys that have no dog in this fight, that have never met the players, yet are willing to side with the farang because, well... because he's a farang! What more reason should they need?

I say that's ignorant.

If you know the girls and dislike them, that's fine. If you know the aggrieved sponsor and trust him, that's fine. But if you don't have a fucking clue and want to side with the dude that can type in english on an anonymous web site, there's no point in trying to have a reasoned or intelligent debate.

I find trousersnake's explanation very pausible. As I know both Noon and Palm reasonably well I would be hesitant to believe they would resort to such tactics. Attempting to recover for 'services rendered' would seem feasible.

Yes, perhaps there would be consequences for the stupidity of not having your passport locked up in the first place. How would you deal with it if your passport was stolen and being held for ransom? Just pay whatever was being demanded? Please, enlighten us.

Yes, perhaps there would be consequences for the stupidity of not having your passport locked up in the first place. How would you deal with it if your passport was stolen and being held for ransom? Just pay whatever was being demanded? Please, enlighten us.

Sorry I could have made my reply a bit less confrontational. I was a bit wound up over DT69's use of ignorant when he apparently doesn't know the guy making the accusation and prefers to believe a hooker??

My passports is always locked up unless I am in transit or need it at the bank, etc. If I had the time I would get a replacement. If not I would have probably paid the money. I would never go to the police and risk that anyone typing my full name in a search engine would be directed to one the the Pattaya newspapers online which likey would contain many interesting details. The Pattaya papers just love this stuff.

In reality going to the police in Thailand can be problematic for many reason. The actual point I was trying to make was one might want to consider their options before getting the police involved. Even if the options aren't very good. As it very well might not turn out as one thinks.

Thanks xyzzy. In reality I doubt I would've gone to the police either. Assuming there was time to make my flight etc, I would've tried to get an emergency replacement from my embassy. And, my original post could've been better thought out as well.

I was trying to point out that the original accusatory post that I read, on another forum I believe, always seemed suspicious to me. While it's been some time since I read the original story, and without looking it up, this is my own, admittedly, twisted synopsis.

He'd been with Palm enough times before to pay for her tits, but didn't know she was underage. Though she was supposedly underage, he decides to go with her again. An experienced punter, he still apparently feels he knows Palm well enough to leave his passport exposed to her access. Due to the nefarious influence of the evil Noon, Palm steals his passport and holds it for a 30K baht ransom. Even though he was in Patts for some days after the initial kidnapping of his passport, he never considers emergency travel documents, police, or any other option, but paying up. Oh! And, he didn't know Palm was underage before, because she had been using Noon's ID. However, suddenly, after having paid the 30K to retrieve his passport he now knows Palm is underage. Then, despite all this happening, says he's going to wait patiently until the next year when Palm turns 18, so he can be with her again.

It all sounded very plausible to me.
