When I went to pay the bin I found that the lady drink was 200 baht (!). I was surprised by this and upon inquiry was told that she had ordered a "lady cocktail" and not a "lady drink" and thus the higher price.
Sure the bar makes their money quicker if they double the price of the lady drinks but it just results in pissed off patrons who realize that they've been had.
I hope this practice has been stopped. When I offer a girl a drink I don't want to have to consult the price sheet.

A clip joint bar?? Good grief, that's a slur that is beyond the pale. And Mardhi, for anyone reading this who doesn't know you, they should be aware you represent two ladyboy bar's, Anaconda in Pattaya & Guess Bar in Bangkok.
Perhaps that might explain your slanderous allegation. Attack the opposition by accusing them of systemic theft. Well it is a free forum & you can do that but don't expect it to go unchallenged.
Nobody knows Pattaya Obsessions like I do & I can confirm that a great deal of effort & expense has been invested to safeguard customers interests.
All drink orders are delivered with printed out receipts that are signed by the customer & account queries can be immediately reconciled with signed dockets so that overcharging is impossible.
The owner has done everything he can to ensure no one gets ripped off in his bar.
What he can't do is control the behaviour of intoxicated patrons who hand over wads of money without counting it. It never goes unnoticed when someone is so drunk they don't know what they are doing.
And no matter how much effort is put into making poor village girls do the right thing, put enough temptation in their path & someone will crack.
That doesn't make it right but it is nowhere near as common as Mardhi suggests.
I have seen the bar manager counting out the change for guys too drunk to stand up. I have seen guys arguing over drinks they couldn't remember ordering who were given a reconciled account with their signature on every docket.
Just how this makes the place a clip joint is beyond me, I wish I could be so well protected in every place I went.
And Mardhi, I know you pride yourself on running quality establishments but is it not possible that a drunk in one of your bars may have been shortchanged once or twice? Remember you are also employing Thais & leopards don't change their spots.
Actually 'clip joint' is too harsh and not what I am meaning. This is an 'entertainment bar' and as such, it makes a large amount of its revenue from consumption of lady drinks - there is nothing wrong with this model and I am the first to say it. I have been in here plenty of times, but I am also not naive to think I am going in for a quiet drink.
Just a glance at all the neon outside should demonstrate to people that its not your run of the mill bar and I guess that is the point I am trying to make. I have never had an incorrect bill in this bar and I have said that on many occasions.
Hope that clears up the confusion.
Cheers
Mardhi

I did think it was out of character for you to be knocking another LB establishment. I am sure your correction will be very well received, you of all people know how hard it is to make a bar work in LOS.
As to the comments about girls wanting tips, I agree completely that it is bloody annoying. But it is just not possible to stop young Thai staff from looking for tips night after night when sometimes they get lucky & score a week's wages just by asking.
The bar has survived a long time & will be going long after many others are closed. No one is forced to enter the place, no one should buy drinks they consider expensive & no one ever needs to succumb to the pressure for a tip. I don't, I only give one for good service or because I think a girl deserves it.
Everyone gets to decide what they do on their holiday, I hate sounding like I am making excuses for what is a good bar.

Yummy, bottled Heinekin for only 60B around midnight. Do say where.Absolutely NOT me! Secondly,I had come from a GG air con GoGo and I paid 60 bht for a Heinekin. These are the types of things that aredriving customers out of the bar scene overpriced drinks and over priced ladies.

There are many different types of entertainment establishments in Pattaya who charge different prices for their Heinekens. You have the 60 Baht group, 110 Baht group, 150 Baht group, 200 Baht group, 250 Baht group and up and up. It’s the same size green bottle and the contents taste exactly the same.
Now everyone has to decide which group they feel comfortable in and live in that group with like-minded people. It’s OK to step out of your zone for a while but you have to pay the consequences. You have to pay more for your Heineken or in the case of boss45 his water.
But boss45 would have known this before he entered Obsessions. He would have known he was stepping out of his comfort zone. So why the charade and negative comments about the talent?
Just for anyone reading this who has never been to Pattaya.
Hundreds of entertainment establishments will charge the Obsessions price, and a lot more, for a bottle of water. Other places do charge less. Boss45, possibly a Pattaya pro, would have known this before he walked in the door.

7/11 has very reasonably priced beer. On most nights the entertainment can be lacking however.
Yes of course I forgot there is the 7/11 & Family Mart group who really go to town and enjoy to bowl of noodles with their beer.

It seems once you've ordered more than a few drinks it becomes open season to try it on .
I'm not worried because I'm well capable of fighting my corner but I do wonder how many guys just pay up so not to cause a fuss ?

The guys here are well aware of drinks charges around town and select the venues not only according to the size of their wallet but to what is on offer and there is not many complaints as to the quality of girls available at Obsessions.
The theme of the previous particular concerns is not the water or price of beers but the level of service and their attitude and the variance of bills.
To put it another way; if someone told you the tyre on your car was flat would you continue to drive it without checking first?
Peace...
