What was there yes but quality was terrible.

Price of the water
As mentioned by xyzzy the price is in line with many entertainment establishments and, if you were a frequent visitor to these types of establishments, you would know this already.

Quality on Offer
Most of the normal crew were working and they usually attract many positive comments.
At this point we would like to mention that we had a strange occurrence last night as reported by our Bar Manager. Apparently, a European looking gentlemen, possibly from England and wearing a red shirt entered Obsessions. He looked totally disinterested in all the surroundings and just ordered a bottle of water. Now comes the interesting bit that captured our attention. Red shirt left without paying for his water and the Bar Manager had to pay out of his own pocket.
We are not saying that there is any connection between Red Shirt and boss45 and it’s probably just a coincidence.

So let me see if I understand this.

Last night (1st March) someone wearing a red shirt entered Obsessions sending out disinterested vibes, ordered a bottle of water and did a runner.

Also last night (1st March) boss45 entered Obsessions, has suggested he was disinterested, ordered a bottle of water and has complained about the price. The question is - did he pay the price?

However the snotty service girl needs to appreciate any tip, be it only 20 baht on a 500 baht bin.

Horses for courses...you will always get someone who isn't happy and leaves disgruntled not feeling any obligement towards his charge regardless of who they are.

I've been to Obsessions and enjoyed the talent and the drinks; the following night they got the drinks wrong but replaced them without a bother, thank you.

However if the service is not that great then the comments on this forum is perhaps a gentle nudge and reminder that we actually do provide a level of communication you can relate and tap into...what was the name of that horse again...?

I really do not understand this - this is a "clip joint' bar - it always has been and always will be. There is nothing wrong with that if you have your wits about you. if your half pissed you will be ripped off, same as in London, Tokyo, Singapore, Los Angeles etc - that is how this place works. What I fail to understand is how guys travel half way round the world into a 3rd world destination and suddenly expect some integrity. It ain't gonna happen guys - wake up to reality and I for one have never been ripped in this bar - but I expect many have been who cannot even recall the day of the week let alone how many drinks they have had.

A clip joint bar?? Good grief, that's a slur that is beyond the pale. And Mardhi, for anyone reading this who doesn't know you, they should be aware you represent two ladyboy bar's, Anaconda in Pattaya & Guess Bar in Bangkok.

Perhaps that might explain your slanderous allegation. Attack the opposition by accusing them of systemic theft. Well it is a free forum & you can do that but don't expect it to go unchallenged.

Nobody knows Pattaya Obsessions like I do & I can confirm that a great deal of effort & expense has been invested to safeguard customers interests.

All drink orders are delivered with printed out receipts that are signed by the customer & account queries can be immediately reconciled with signed dockets so that overcharging is impossible.

The owner has done everything he can to ensure no one gets ripped off in his bar.

What he can't do is control the behaviour of intoxicated patrons who hand over wads of money without counting it. It never goes unnoticed when someone is so drunk they don't know what they are doing.

And no matter how much effort is put into making poor village girls do the right thing, put enough temptation in their path & someone will crack.

That doesn't make it right but it is nowhere near as common as Mardhi suggests.

I have seen the bar manager counting out the change for guys too drunk to stand up. I have seen guys arguing over drinks they couldn't remember ordering who were given a reconciled account with their signature on every docket.

Just how this makes the place a clip joint is beyond me, I wish I could be so well protected in every place I went.

And Mardhi, I know you pride yourself on running quality establishments but is it not possible that a drunk in one of your bars may have been shortchanged once or twice? Remember you are also employing Thais & leopards don't change their spots.

Before this turns into a bunfight Obsessions prevously had a bad rep mainly due to the old Mamasan Riga and her shenanigans.

As Paccers rightly pointed out steps were taken to improve the service which to me was visible and I'd have no hesitation utilising their club again.

I am also looking forward to my first visit to Anaconda...

As for staff integrity; I'm sure Mardhi will admit that you can't get it right all of the time so if the odd bad egg slips in then it's usually by default the true colours shine through and they are let go.

No one in their right mind would walk out without paying for water & then post about the price of water in the bar the next morning.

I don't know boss45 except from his pithy posts but I am pleased he isn't being accused of any misdeed. I hate the thought of anyone having even a suggestion of impropriety made about them online. I have seen how it can blow out of proportion. Perhaps a moderator can clean up all references to unpaid water.

I hope boss45 re-acquaints himself with the bar to check out the talent again. And if he makes himself known, I will ask for any water he orders to be charged to my account.

He should speak to the cashier when he arrives, please don't expect the serving girls to have any idea about me or water or boss45 or pretty much anything else.
