The pricing in Australia is no different to the US, UK and many other parts of Europe, factoring for Exchange rates and cost of living, etc.
Obviously compared to Thailand, the prices for "Escorts Services" in a country like Australia seems hard to believe, but its the same with alot of everyday items.

For example, in Thailand I can buy a Fried Rice with Chicken for around 30 Baht, ($1 AUD) , in Australia I would generally pay closer to 270 Baht for the equivalent dish ($9 AUD).

As for the cost of flights to Thailand, JETSTAR will soon be flying to Bangkok and Phuket, and was recently offering return flights to Thailand for $600 AUD including taxes. At the moment, you can still get return flights on THAI AIRWAYS starting at $900 AUD return including taxes.
With the introduction of JETSTAR into the market, I would anticipate seeing some healthy competition in the months ahead !
