Jet Ski Scam or Genuine Accident?
Pattaya, September 29 [PATTAYA ONE NEWS] : In a scene reminiscent of the recent TV show broadcast in UK called “Big Trouble in Thailand”, we were made aware of a potential Jet Ski scam taking place on Pattaya Beach on Monday Afternoon. Opposite the Royal Garden Plaza, two Tourists thought to be of Indian Nationality had been detained following an alleged Jet Ski Accident. We were shown the damage sustained to both Jet Ski’s and the damage appeared “fresh”. As it the norm in these types of cases a financial settlement was discussed at the scene to avoid the case being taken any further. The Jet Ski Operator, Khun Noot, asked for 12,000 Baht to cover the damage of both Jet Ski’s. Both Tourists refused to pay and were therefore taken to Pattaya Police Station to continue the negotiations. On the way, both men decided to offer the Jet Ski Operator 10,000 Baht which was duly accepted. Payment was handed over and the two men who were accompanied by three other friends went on their way. We spoke with the Jet Ski Operator and asked him if he was aware of the UK TV program which reportedly showed a Jet Ski Scam in Phuket involving a Jet Ski Operator known as “JJ”. He had seen the story on Thai TV but promised this was a genuine accident and genuine damage had been caused.

Indian Tourist dies following encounter with transsexual.
Pattaya, September 29 [PATTAYA ONE NEWS] : Early on Tuesday Morning, Police Lieutenant Colonel Chatchai from Pattaya Police Station was called to the Pattaya City Hotel located in Soi 12 off the Central Pattaya Road to investigate reports of a foreign fatality. The Investigating Officer was directed to room number 304 to inspect the body of Mr. Amint Anand aged 25 from India. He was wearing only his underpants and despite the best efforts of medical staff to revive him, he was pronounced dead-at-the-scene. A second Indian occupant of the room, Mr. Kumar Parwan aged 41, had been taken to Hospital suffering from the effects of ingesting some form of drug which rendered him unconscious. According to Khun Sopit aged 50, the Hotel Receptionist, the two men were spotted at around 4am going back to their rooms with a transsexual who left 2 hours later. The transsexual was identified as Khun Pongsagorn and a copy of his ID card was given to Police. Evidence in the room suggests that sexual intercourse did take place and Police can only theorize that drugs were given to both men with the intention of stealing their possessions as soon as they were unconscious. Tests are now underway to confirm the exact cause of death for Mr. Amint while his roommate recovers in Hospital. An urgent search for the transsexual is now underway.

Cheers guy's
I am intrigued by the results of this documentary, and it seems that the Thai authority seem to be following it, and they seem to try to put right the items that do make them look bad, like the arrest of JJ, then the gold scam man etc. And now I read the Pattaya news about the jet ski vendor, who is aware of the documentary also. As for all the jail birds....... well the documentary does them a favor, and makes a good warning to those who think they can break the laws, and may stop a percentage in doing so.
I don't like the idea of 'wannabe cop's', but if they do help mediate in problems, before being locked behind bars, then fair play to them. On my TR, I mentioned spending the afternoon with 'Boy Scout Paul', and after giving him a bollicking for the pepper spray incident, he gave me a lot of insight on what they have to sort out.
You remember the scam on walking street, at the last high season, when a Phillipina singer, who was married to a bar owner, got her ass touched up by some drunk, and demanded 30k for the insult. Word got around walking street about this easy way to make money, so all the girls started to do this, and it was in the news every week. Then all of a sudden it stopped. Paul informed me that they now just mediate it with "Buy her a drink and apologize". Now this scam is never in the news anymore.
I have to say they are handy for things like that!

I always thought those Walking Street Farang Cops were cop-wannabe-wankers, but I have to say I see them in a much better light now. The show has done wonders for their image, I think

paul,

No Anthony,
They don't get paid, and even have to buy their own uniforms. It's just a bunch of guys that felt it was needed. And as you can see it is very much needed.

Yes DC,
I felt the same way about them in the beginning. Then after chatting with Paul, and thinking back to the old days, when it was the farang Vs Thai or the cops, you don't have to guess too hard who always looses. At least with these guys knocking about, we all have a better chance of fair play.

Two transsexuals arrested following recent death of Indian Tourist.
Pattaya, October 3 [PATTAYA ONE NEWS] : On Friday in Bangkok a press conference was held at the Tourist Police Headquarters led by Police Lieutenant General Tangai, the Commissioner of the Central Investigations Bureau to announce the arrest of two suspects in the recent case which resulted in the death of an Indian Tourist who was drugged along with his friend by the suspects and then robbed of their possessions. It is believed that Mr. Amint Anand aged 25 had a reaction to a sleeping tablet which was put inside a drink and suffered a heart attack, based on initial findings by forensic doctors. The case was taken up by the Pattaya Tourist Police and since Wednesday, Police Lieutenant Colonel Suwan, the Officer-in-Charge of the station led a team of his officers on a hunt for two transsexuals, Khun Pongsagorn aged 24 and Khun Prangshompoo aged 25. Arrest warrants 905/2552 and 906/2552 were issued for the pair who were eventually tracked down and arrested. Khun Pongsagorn was arrested in Rayong while Khun Prangshompoo was arrested at the Southern Bus Terminal in Bangkok. Both were initially taken to Pattaya for questioning and then taken to Bangkok for a press conference. They confessed during interview to their involvement in the case but claimed they had no intention of causing either men serious harm and only wanted to steal their possessions as they were both saving up for gender re-assignment surgery. They later returned to Pattaya where they were transferred to Pattaya Police Station and formally charged with murder.
