Keep an eye on what is happening with the government. Currently PT is making a mess of the Thai economy. If they win the next election and continue the same economic policies, 53 Baht to the Euro or 38 - 40 to the USD may happen.

My first trip was almost ten years ago and the rate was 40 to 1 for USD. Happy to see the climb.
my first trip was Apr 2005 and when I reached Patts and exchanged my EUR at 51 THB I realized I was in Paradise but... still alive
but recently LOS has become more as a Purgatory for the great sinner I am...

bit harsh eh wot?
My average since 2007 has been around 30 to the dollar with maybe a BRIEF 35 or 29. I'm not asking as much. If I see 35 I won't mind so much that street food went from 30 to 50 baht.

On my first trip in 2006 I got 42 baht for each dollar, since I always carry hundreds and change them everyday 4200 baht was great. On my last trip it was 2800 baht, which was god awful, I'd pay for my room 1200, buy some food and liquor 500, give a girl a 1000 baht and poof thats the whole shaboing. To me the 28 baht to a dollar didn't hold water, at least 32 is back to reality.

havical the 4200 baht compared to 2800 is no fun, my last experience was around 4000k per hundred, I think by next new years Thailand will be 35+ baht to the dollar again, the country is welcoming its 8 month low season schedule that I believe is kinda there to stay, well that n the Russians.

And busses filled with asians. On my last trip I was looking for something tight to drill on beach road, and i saw 3 huge busses come by filled with asians looking out of the window, taking pictures and pointing at the people on beach road, it was very surrealistic.
