The oz dollar has surged today to allmost 0.70 to the USD still down 30% of it's high of 0.98 in July and is above 24thb :) my prediction and will quote myself when the times comes that the dollar will be close to 26thb in 2 months, a forecast of 4% per month as predicted.

DS I think you look in wrong column again....Todays rates are Bht /A$

Bangkok Bank as at 9.55 a.m. 23.45

Siam Commercial Bank as at 11.44 a.m. 23.49125

Also the US$ has eased slightly against the bht so that does'nt help us....Cheers Donnykey

Aussie $ now at 24.31bht a rise of 1 baht in 2 days.
I've done my sums, if this holds until I arrive on Xmas Day, I am worth an extra Singha beer every 2nd day :D
Also AUD has broken the USD0.70 barrier....Happy days are here again!

Out of interest:

The difference in cost between withdrawing THB10,000 from an ATM in Thailand from July '08 and January '09 is enough to bring tears to your eyes:

17 Jul 2008 ATM
SIAM COMMERCIA , BANGKOK THA , THB 10020.00, RATE 66.7021, ERTF 4.13, CHARGE 3.09 - £157.44

5 Jan 2009 ATM
SIAM COMMERCIA , BANGKOK THA , THB 10020.00, RATE 49.9078, ERTF 5.52, CHARGE 4.13 - £210.42

A difference of £52.98

If you use an ATM of another bank (not the one you bank with) or an ATM of a branch of your bank, outside your Bank's town (Pattaya), the bank charges 20 Baht admin fee.

As Rossco stated. The ATM also states the fact on screen too.

The other additionals are compliments of my UK bank :|

All miniscule amounts when taking the change in exchange rates into consideration :?
