I have then new Sony Nex7. It is a great camera. 24.3 mp and all the options a camera 3x its size comes with. My only suggestion would be to forgo the body with 18-55mm lens option and buy the body alone, then match it to the 18-200mm they sell in their emount line.
Welcome to the Forum mate and indeed the camera club!
I had a look at the Sony Nex 7 and was impressed...
Hopefully I'll be looking at the RX100 this afternoon if they have it in...

I bought its APS-C equivalent - Canon 17-55/f2.8 lens - and am highly satisfied with them. Moreover, it costs only 900 euro, contrary to 2200 euro for the new 24-70/2.8 USM II L.i read the 24-70mm f2.8 is pretty much the standard zoom now as it's alledgedly good for portrait stuff amongst other things,

Back on the camera trail...I visited my camera guy this afternoon and the Sony RX100 hasn't come out here yet...bugga. I did pick up a carbon fibre Manfrotto 055CXPRO4 tripod with a 324RC2 Head which I've been promising myself for a while and managed to have a feel of the D800 which is nice but truth be told I can't really justify loading it on to my CC.
I was hoping he would have the new Nikon lenses (24-85mm & 18-300) but they have not arrived yet.
My PI GF however fell in lurve with the new D3200 kit and muggins bought it for her...which means no more gear for at least 3 months.

indeed they do take a decent picture, i have a hx9 which i use when i need to be light. only word of caution is my sony at least has a habit of over exposing when there are is a mix of light types. and err dont try the video unless you have something more than a class 4 sd card lol, i found that out to lateThe HX20V is no RX100 but it doesn't cost as much either. Most of the Cybershots can take a decent picture & Sony do incorporate a lot of features into their Point'N'Shoots.

DP Review gave it 78% which ain't bad in their books.
I had a swift clutch at my local Sony outlet yesterday and it felt good, it had only just been delivered so not an extended play...450 quid here.
