"The (Sony) HX9V has two low light composite modes, and a new Superior Auto mode which combines scene recognition with composited multiple exposures to get the best results."

If good low-light is important to you, then be aware of the following:... google low light camera's and came up with this, any info ?
Nikon Coolpix S9100
"The only major negative points are sub-par image quality in poor light at high ISO settings and very little manual exposure control." ~ Source
If I'm honest, that would put me off.

No worries DudeCheers DC
Even my excellent little Canon S90 needed the 'P' Program setting up for a forced 'flash', when required. Nothing is 100% straight out of the box.

Nikon have been busy in the labs and this is their latest release;

Looks like they've built a mighty fine processor from the ground up here which will surely have a major impact on future releases in the DSLR camp...
The D700 is rumoured to be up for a major revamp and I think serious Nikon loving photographers will be in for a treat.

Be careful here not to mistake with other 4/3 mirrorless (sony, panasonic, olympus, etc.). Significant difference in sensor size 13.2 mm x 8.8 mm (Nikon 1) vs. 17.3 x 13 on most 4/3 ... that is high % light you are missing. I think Nikon (again) missed the boat here, and apparently had been working on this one for 5?! yrs.
Sensor and glass (IMHO) is what matters, where sensor is already a commodity (except e.g. FF EXR-CMOS sensor) remains important as together with the glass determines how much light is naturally let in.
The biggest sensor you can get at the mo' (I think) in a (reasonably) compact albeit 4/3 body is the APS-C in the FujiFilm X100, significantly bigger than all other 4/3 mirrorless' Most non-prime DSLR carry a APS-C or smaller sensor. I think very soon all other 4/3 will have the same sensor size and extend their glass range, and there will really be no reason anymore for buying a non-prime DSLR.

Cool, thanks for sharing. Also check this one, end of the post very nice little summary of 2011:
http://www.stevehuff...ts-almost-2012/
Would add also for this year Canon S90/S95/S100, awesome little camera with similar quality as G10-12. Fuji launching premium compact little brother of the X100, which will blow away current best premium compacts G12, DLUX5, etc.
And what's most exciting about 2012, Fuji coming with a medium format Leica M9 killer (if only for price), Leica coming with a mirrorless Fuji X100 killer, X100 with interchangeable lenses, and Canon upgrades on their prime DSLRs... it's going to be a fun year to look forward too

I eagerly awaited Nikons V1 but with mixed reviews and a high price for features I don't think I need it's seriously preventing me from parting with my shekels.
Further muddying my tepid bathwater is the impending release of this wee beastie from Fuji...the X-Pro1.
