As you seem to be intereted in Low Light and good Auto TJ, i read this about the Sony.
"The (Sony) HX9V has two low light composite modes, and a new Superior Auto mode which combines scene recognition with composited multiple exposures to get the best results."

If good low-light is important to you, then be aware of the following:

"The only major negative points are sub-par image quality in poor light at high ISO settings and very little manual exposure control." ~ Source

If I'm honest, that would put me off.

Cheers DC

No worries Dude 8)

Even my excellent little Canon S90 needed the 'P' Program setting up for a forced 'flash', when required. Nothing is 100% straight out of the box.

I bought an inexpensive Samsung HZ30W last year with a 15x optical zoom. Nice little camera with image stabilization and hi-def capability for video (need a hi-def card to use it). Has auto settings
Old, cantankerous, and sorry if I piss you off - well, not really. Just enjoy!

Nikon have been busy in the labs and this is their latest release;

Looks like they've built a mighty fine processor from the ground up here which will surely have a major impact on future releases in the DSLR camp...

The D700 is rumoured to be up for a major revamp and I think serious Nikon loving photographers will be in for a treat.

I must admit I'm more than a little tempted to splash a little cash on something, but I'm torn between which route to follow, so any input from you camera buffs would be much appreciated.

I currently have a Nikon D90 (with only the 18-55mm kit lens) and a Canon S90, but I want more zoom-ability.

I am undecided whether to consider a Nikon 55-300mm Zoom Lens for my D90, or buy one of the new cameras with amazing built-in zoom capability, such as the Nikon Coolpix L120, which has caught my eye. Their prices aren't too disimilar, but it's one or the other, not both.

Thoughts?

I love my little Canon S90 :mrgreen:
