Anyhow am back visually so have much catching up to do. Thanks Rossco, KK and BB for recent photos - good to see the current staff's ass line up.
Reading all the La Bamba posts I missed makes me feel so good, here in rainy New York. Thanks guys.
What medication is Mae on - she looks better every time I see her. No recent pictures of Cindy nor Dear - any news?

I was under the impression Cindy was no longer at La Bamba or in Pattaya.

the current atmosphere, which I enjoy..
Er.....What Atmosphere
The place is like a moseleum and most of the times I go there customers are camped outside in Soi Yamoto while the ladyboys engross themselves in viewing Beyonce & Shakira vids.
Alis does a mighty fine job at La Bamba
Alis does a shite job at LaBamba and if it was not for this & other web sites it would have sunk by now.
When I find a bar I like, then regularly I'll be running up tabs of 1000-1500 Baht virtually every night I'm in town over a 3 month period however, LaBamba does not give me that urge :? Under Alis's stewardship it is going no where fast. After one drink I'm ready to move on whereas Guess & Ezy Bar I can easily camp there all night.
Talking of parties, Ezy has absolutely put LaBamba to shame in hosting such events over the high season....how can somebody like Alis be expected to compete with Karl on talking (or rather press ganging) us blokes into hosting a revenue creating event, the easily achieveable target should be at least one every week.
LaBamba is a rudderless ship, it may have a fine accountant and a conscientious bartender, I suppose it serves a purpose for the photographers and occasional drinkers however, it has precious little appeal to me & once i've consumed a couple of bottles and caught up with some mates, i'm ready to move on.

I prefer La Bamba early on though it can be entertaining late on too if the right crowd are in.......all a question of what you're comfortable with......
If all the bars were the same it would be boring.....we take out of each bar what we're looking for at that particular time and when we have had enough.........we go to the next one........isn't that what it's all about......?
I've met some fine chaps in La Bamba........

I respect La Bamba might not be to your tastes, but in late Nov/Dec time La Bamba was a regular stop for me. And along with Big Tel, Petesie, Jackson, Hoot, BB and others, the 8-9pm happy hour was the first port of call.
On top of that there were a couple of impromptu BM gatherings at lLa Bamba over the High season where I saw you present, and no one was pressured into hosting a party, in fact on one occasion the there was a slightly extended happy hour and free pizza was delivered, I'd like to see that elsewhere.
Everyone has a favorite bars, personally I like the variety. IMHO La Bamba is still good spot, and one of the better places to start the proceedings, have a few warm up drinks whilst taking full advantage of the happy hour beers (I hope that is still going!). The girls will leave you alone to chat with your mates, or they'll happily come over and be playful if you wish, and it's pretty much a drama free zone (especially when Chin is tired or not present!).
I enjoy chatting with Alis at the bar, she always greeted me with a smile and was a lot of fun. She'd certainly get a lot of customers for herself if she worked the other side of the bar, but she'd also be constantly bar fined and MIA - to the loss of everyone else.
As far as the music goes, yes they will put on the Shakira nonsense, but they don't seem to refuse requests to change the music, and allow customers to bring or donate their own CDs (as long as they are originals).

I've gotta agree with pentire here. I've tried to like the place because I liked 131 but I only ever go there to meet up with BMs. I've been bad-mouthed in there, completely ignored, squeezed for drinks, all the shite you really don't need in a LB bar.
I think once the core of LBs there decide they don't like you, your fucked. Saying that, if your a genuinely nice fella you'll probably get on pretty well.
Unfortunately I'm a moody cunt so the place just dosen't work for me.

For me, Alis has been always one of the most fascinating character in whole thai LB scene, and i like her alot.

If you don´t like it, don´t go there. It´s that simple.
For me, Alis has been always one of the most fascinating character in whole thai LB scene, and i like her alot.
Thanks for tha advice.....I never thought of that option :?

I would say thought that negative comments are really more valuable than positive ones as bar owners are always looking to attract more customers and the negative comments give them ideas of what they could change to increase business.

I have never once been asked for a drink in La Bamaba or Ezy.......though judging by my check-bin I've bought a few........!
