Most of us go there because it is La Bamba, our kinda of bar. Whether Alis is standing at the door all dressed up, or sitting behind the counter isn't the deal breaker by the time you arrive at the front door IMO.

Alis chose to take on the role of cashier - she is a conscientious manager of La Bamba and decided to become cashier in conjunction with her roles as Mamasan and manager.
La Bamba is a small closed in bar with a casual atmosphere where customers can relax - it is not a Gogo bar nor a Hiphop type bar - just a quiet place to sit and relax.
I understand Alis wanting to be cashier as, previous harsh learned, experiences showed that there is only one way to take care of your cash - manage it yourself.
Finding a good and honest cashier, who is happy to work in a LB bar, is not so easy! Alis did interview a few candidates last year and decided she could do better! So in September Alis agreed, with Pampamsam (the owner), to become full time cashier.
Alis can go with customers, if she so chooses, but from what I have observed she can be pretty selective - many a customer has been turned down! I guess that that is the benefit of a regular salary.

Be that as it may Rossco, I still believe she is wasted in her current roll & although LaBamba is doing ok, it really could kick on with a little more effort from Alis interacting with the punters.
Seeing her pictured like that says a lot about her current situation which she is clearly very contented with :?
But, Alis holds all the cards and it's perhaps difficult to argue otherwise unless business dried up completely.

I completely agree with Petesie.
Alis does a mighty fine job at La Bamba and if she was constantly being bar fined and taken away from the bar it would only take away from the current atmosphere, which I enjoy..
