I wish it were that simple, and we all know it probably isn't, but that does give me a way to reconcile this in my mind that works.
Ultimately, the choice to reward their request with a few coins does reinforce that line of work for them. And not rewarding them doesn't necessarily force them to find something more fulfilling in the short run, but it does ensure that I'm not doing a part to encourage the cycle.
That's a moral decision I can live with.
Thanks again... on with the show please!

To lighten the mood and take things into the evening, Street 136 has a host of bars catering to the amusement and entertainment of visitors.
Candy Bar is one such venue and, although primarily a girlie bar, they do have a few ladyboys on staff and sometimes feature a ladyboy show, a traditional one in this case. They are open 24 hours a day.

Excellent TR and pics. Much appreciated. I am curious with your title 'Year of the Rabbit' I didn't know that Cambodians and even Thais, unless they are Thai's with Chinese roots, acknowledged the Chinese Zodiac like China, Japan, Korea and Vietnam.
Maybe someone can enlighten me with this.
Again love the pics.

Although I am every year at least once in Phnom Penh, after one of my Thailand stays, I usually do not look for ladyboys and do not go even to a bar. There are too reasons: (1) I am saturated from Thailand (except this year), and (2) I am there with extremely conservative colleagues, who do not know what fun is.
However, I am surprised to see a Cambodian ladyboy with a boobjob. Next time I must check Candy bar on street 136 carefully.

Cambodia is a Buddhist country and, like many other Asian countries, follow the Buddhist traditions and celebrate the New Year on the day of the first full moon of the month of April, same time as the Thais celebrate Songkran.

Also worth checking out is Up Town Bar (formerly known as Up & Down Bar), right next door to Candy. It is a small bar but has a number of ladyboys on staff and provides a more laid back al-fresco experience where you can watch the 136 street action.

I topped-up on a box of 50 vitamin-K whilst shopping at the "Pharmacie Sokserey" (below) and the nice lady serving had the decency to show me the difference between fake and genuine Kamagra. She quoted the price differential too, the copy-K being half the price. I also bought some Valium. Excellent service.
