What a refreshing account. Your photographic skills and reporting are much appreciated. All this makes me think "damn, I wish i could have been there!".

From what I recall brother Nix, you could have been there but you chose Phuket if I am not mistaken. Great spot for diving for sure, but for everyday banter in a reasonably priced environment, with good guys, Patts is hard to beat.

I had to hang out with dumb old Flexxy and Batman. Next time, I'll know better!

Btw, tomorrow I go to the Dominican Republic, the first-ever place where I felt an unrequited longing for an LB. "Marcia" was her name, and I remembered a frightening and unexpected arousal in her presence. I was so freaked out. I doubt she's there anymore, but unlike that time I will be on the hunt.

Wish me well amigos, i travel as a lone- wolf and the forum is the ONLY place where I can talk about my adventures. ......I'll be looking for "ours". Wish me luck.

I wish you could make a sort of TR of your next trip..it's been a while I've been fancing a trip to Punta Cano or so... as the only alternative to LOS

I'll be watching the Outside Thaoland thread very carefully from tomorrow onward..

Foggy and I head up to to the Tikka Centre on Buakhao to meet NWs for some food. I get a text from Williethepimp who is passing through town ,to find out where we are and he joins us a bit later. Donnykey and Cherry are the neaxt to turn up, and as they have eaten already, they wait for us to finish so we can all head off together. Just as we are about to leave for the Chalalee cabaret on Second road, the Hound arrives and Willie hangs around with him for some food and says he’ll follow us up later.


We enjoyed our last time up there, and it makes for a refreshing break for a few hours. Jimslim and Ciobha arrive about the same time as our gang and TTChang and Socrates along with Jane join us a while later, as do the 2 gents we left behind in the Tikka Centre.

There is a good atmosphere but then we notice Foggy has been in the toilet a bit too long. We send out a search party, presuming he is mooching one of the show girls somewhere out the back, but alas it is a sorry man we find. The meal earlier has come back for its revenge and has grounded the man. He gets it all out, and feels a lot better, but he decides to call it a night to be on the safe side.

Eventually we break up and some of us head back down towards WS and Linda’s. CurlyMike is there and himself and NWs end up going to listen to some rock music in the Blue Sky bar where I leave them and head home.

Saturday 12
After buying some bread and ham in the Friendship supermarket I relax on my balcony with said sandwich and marvel at the the lack of safety standards in not just Thailand but this part of the world in general. We have all seen some hair raising stuff over the years, and the 2 scenes I am observing to my mind only rank a 6 or so out of 10.

I hang around the room for a while, and then go to meet NWs at Chow Soy about 2.30. We get a call from Jimslim saying he is over at his pool and we head that way via LK Metro, Diana, Beach rd and WS to change some more money. We just shoot the breeze with Jim and Ciobha, and make arrangements to check out the Sugar and spice bar in the Jomtien Complex later.

Sugar and Spice appears to be staffed mostly by the LBs who were working in Bar 54 Jomtin when I was there 6 months earlier. Jimslim reacquaints himself with Pop, who now calls herself Ice. He has know he for a while now, she used to work in another bar in the Complex before turning up in 54.

It is a relaxing spot, the bars in general in the complex tend to be very spacious, ideal for a party although I cannot see any FM taking the chance and throwing one there. After a while we decide to head towards Sally’s, JS escorting Pop/Ice so that she can have a night off from her hectic schedule of lounging around S&S staring into her smart phone.


As we leave the complex, we bump into the ubiquitous CurlyMike who is quite stuffed after some fine dining nearby. He declines our offer to join us, preferring instead to head back to his hotel and sleep off the meal before commencing his nightly crawl and trawl of Pattaya.

We spend a relaxing couple of hours in Sally’s, too relaxing perhaps. The buzz is just not there anymore. Bar the few familiar LB faces, the majority of the ones who made it so appealing have moved on and have not been replaced. It is a sad reflection of the current situation that of the 5 of us there, 3 have brought their own LBs. It is becoming just another bar I fear.

Jimslim and Ciobha are the first to bail out, with the intention of finding some talent back in Patts. NWs heads off with Kip on her bike, and DK, Cheery and myself take the bus back over the hill about 1 am. I don’t fancy anymore beer, the 3 weeks are taking their toll, and so it is off the bus at Soi VC, across towards Pattaya Tai, some fried chicken and bed. Sometimes it's the only bird you need before sleep.

I Dont wanna sound like a broken record but thanks again Dave for the report. I love coming back to this thread. Just makes me and probably every other reader wanna be a part of the action. Of course i was fortunate enough to be able to tag along for a bit.

I used to wrtie a few reports back in the heady days of TLF and i know the time and effort it take - So thanks again and keep on posting
