As there is a good buzz in La Bamba, we spend more there time than usual but eventually time does push on, and there are new pastures to explore. Foggy has a meet up with an LB in Malibu cabaret, which is now back on the Second road corner of 13/2 after a couple of years further up Second rd, and so Nok and I accompany his as she is interested to see the show. It is not a bad one, mostly tourists, I get the impression few of our lot bother unless it's an alternative night out.

He is not sure what she looks like, and there is even confusion whether she actually works here or is coming by after finishing work in another show in town. Anyway she does turns up, and she is just one of his types, tall with a hint of glamour. He heads off with her, and Nok and I make for Lindas.

It's fairly quiet when we get there, and a call from Jimslim to inform me himself and PD are in Famous leads to a swift downing of our drinks and a foray up soi VC to join them. After an enjoyable catch up on general things, we all head home, with young Jimbo getting what I take to be an innocent escort back to his sleeping quarters from Cherry and June.

Thursday 10

Nok and I are joined by Foggy for a morning bite to eat in the Thai Issan restaurant near my place. It is on the way to Pattaya Tai, which suits Nok as she is leaving for home again today and will get the minivan opposite soi Day and Night. As soon as she gets onto the bus, I head back to my room to crash out for the afternoon; it just feels like a lazy day.

About 4.30 pm I emerge for my slumber and pop over to meet Ninewives and Gerry at the poolside of the PBR. They are having a lazy one also, but I feel I need a walk, to do something with the last hour of daylight. So I leave them and nip through the Avenue and towards Beach rd to see how the preparations are going for tonight's Loy Kratong.

The stretch between 131 and Walking St is a hive of activity, and I find it easier to negotiate the route along the sand. I go into PBG for a shake and watch BR from a relaxing vantage point. On the way out, I spot the LB who works in one of the bars there, all ready for the occasion, I am sure one of you can supply us with a name.

Lita has asked us to be at Famous from about 6 pm onwards, for a BBQ on the terrace. When I get there, Foggy is already munching away, while waiting for the food lol. Slowly all the gang arrives in dribs and drabs, and by 9 pm there is a very distinguished group of guys enjoying the celebrations The girls look fantastic in their traditional costumes, although on the skimpy side, but who is complaining.

By 10 pm we are all eager to head to WS and the PBG to watch the goings on. DK takes Cheery along with him so she can enjoy the night outside the bar, what a charming chap he is. We get one of the big tables on the water side, and have a great view. Alas a few spits of rain hint at more to come, and so we drift inside to the entrance area and one of the high counters.

Eyemhak takes a fancy to two GGs on the fair side of the bar, and after some maneuvering we get chatting to them. They say they are down from Bkk because of the flooding, seems feasible. After a couple of hours there, we all break up and head home. Like the fireworks around us burn and fade so does this night. A quiet end to a lazy day.

Friday 11
Another meet up at Chow Soy and Ninewives is feeling a lot better than recently, he had some bug which kept him a bit subdued. We are joined by Foggy, DK and Cherry, and a while later by Jimslim and Ciobha. After the meal, DK and Cherry head off, and the remainder of us go for an afternoon stretch of the legs.


We make our way along Buakhao and Jimslim nips into Pooks for a moment to have a quick word with Bo. We then get to the end of the soi swing left onto Pattaya Klang and then turn right when we get to Second road. It’s a pretty uneventful stroll until just after we pass Soi 6 and the bar there with the outdoor stools.


All of a sudden Ciobha doubles over with a “fook” cry. As it turns out, the waitress at the bar has her back to us as we pass and she is removing a tray from the counter. She lifts the tray, and turns around, not seeing us and her right arm swings down with the tray catching the poor unfortunate man "spot on" in the nuts as he would say himself. You had to be there.

Ciobha eventually regains his walking ability and we carry on, popping into Tiffany to see if any of the girls are floating around. Nothing to see today, so it onwards, towards the Dolphin roundabout. NWs and Foggy bail out at this point, and jump on a bus. The remaining three of us make our way to an obligatory detour up soi 6, well we are in the area, seems rude not to, and Jimslim has a bit of banter with one of the girls, I think maybe from so What.

We continue our stroll along Beach road, witnessing some unfortunates having their holiday ruined by getting caught up in the Jet Ski Scam, before going into Mike’s Mall and onwards towards Buakhao. Jimslim leaves us at Tony’s gym and Ciobha and myself carry on till I reach my apartment a little further on.

Foggy and I head up to to the Tikka Centre on Buakhao to meet NWs for some food. I get a text from Williethepimp who is passing through town ,to find out where we are and he joins us a bit later. Donnykey and Cherry are the neaxt to turn up, and as they have eaten already, they wait for us to finish so we can all head off together. Just as we are about to leave for the Chalalee cabaret on Second road, the Hound arrives and Willie hangs around with him for some food and says he’ll follow us up later.


We enjoyed our last time up there, and it makes for a refreshing break for a few hours. Jimslim and Ciobha arrive about the same time as our gang and TTChang and Socrates along with Jane join us a while later, as do the 2 gents we left behind in the Tikka Centre.

There is a good atmosphere but then we notice Foggy has been in the toilet a bit too long. We send out a search party, presuming he is mooching one of the show girls somewhere out the back, but alas it is a sorry man we find. The meal earlier has come back for its revenge and has grounded the man. He gets it all out, and feels a lot better, but he decides to call it a night to be on the safe side.

Eventually we break up and some of us head back down towards WS and Linda’s. CurlyMike is there and himself and NWs end up going to listen to some rock music in the Blue Sky bar where I leave them and head home.
