BTW, have any of you stayed at the UNICO Express Sukhumvit or know anything about it? It's on Soi 3 north of Sukhumvit, not far from Nana. Anybody know if they are guest friendly? I can get a flight and 5 nights there for $1300 thru Expedia.

I don't know it but the location is definitely a short stroll from all the action.

Great advice from the fellas there and a great start to your adventure. Like you I fantasized for years before taking the plunge and now I've no regrets whatsoever of one of the wisest decisions I've ever made.
I was like you and was all for repelling anal intruders until I got carried away with my first LB love on my very first trip and got de-virginised before I knew it...no big thing...unless it is a big thing!
Regarding accomodation; 1300 bucks for 5 nights is 5 star stuff where they may not like your guest, I'd search the forum for LB friendly pads with reasonable comfortable facilities which can easily found for under half that amount.
Any more questions then please fire away we are all here to help...

The Unico is only 3 stars but seeing as that price includes his flight it may not be such a dad deal, depending on where he is flying from.
Looking at the pics I might consider it for my next weekend in BKK.It is in an area more assoicated with Arabic and African travellers, but that shouldn't be a big deal.

Yup, that does include the flight. The price changes daily if not hourly. I've been looking for about 2 weeks now and it's been as high as $1500 and low as $1200. I'll be travelling from western US, Utah to be specific. Please don't judge me by that! We're not all Mormon religious fanatics here! It's a great place to live if you like outdoor activities.
You won't be judged here for anything, Jaybee.
