Arrived in Phuket yesterday late, made a jump to C&D, saw Nuoy, who was really pushy, asked me 2,000 for a ST, I declined for various reasons (seems to be overpriced, too pushy and I was really tired), got a beer with a nice dancing demonstration.
Hope to see Oh and Faa tonight, BTW whom (Oh, Nuoy, Faa) would you recommend to a first timer?
And which are standard fares for ST and night, respectively?

Yes Nuoy can be a bit pushy, and you were right to decline 2,000 ST. Its Low Season, and one or two of them need a dose of reality. 1500 is plenty for your "special" one.

I've never tried Faa, although she's on my RMD (Really Must Do) list. Both Oh and Nuoy would be fine for a newbie, although in my opinion Nuoy has the better english. Both are ace performers.

See you tonight.

I remember that she asked me 2 000 B for LT. Twenty minutes later her price went down to 1200 B for LT .

I accepted her offer :D and received a normal service.

Personally I never rejoice in being a cheap charlie when it comes to personal services, getting a good deal on a fridge-freezer is different to an emotional experience with another human being. I find a pinch of sugar is better than a pinch of salt when it comes to motivating the other party. It's a bit like those people who you go for a meal out with and then they quibble over the bill and what they ate - ruins the experience. So for me, the money issue is a bit of a distraction (and I'm not rich!).

I also always remind myself how much you would have to pay back home ... it's peanuts in LOS and I would suggest much better quality.

I almost agree... 8)

The ticket to ride is a lot cheaper but so is the quantity and quality...

I never discuss the price and have my own payment rates which are generous...and never refused... 8)

The rate you want or are able to pay is also dependent on "your" budget which is therefore a result on your income which is also usually relevant from your country of origin with western Europeans having a higher one than their UK counterparts... 8)

During a 2 week stay its easy being a millionaire. Try doing that for 6 months, it adds up.

I agree sev7en. People have a budget, I do, and as I said I'm not rich and I wish I was in a position to afford a 6-month stay. :D

I was remarking that I would not be pleased with myself to knock people down on price for a physical and emotional encounter with an LB, however brief. It's kind of counter-productive in my view. But hey, we're all different.

It's a market place for sure and I would rather move-on and find a match for my budget than be with a person who might feel resentful for not getting what they feel they can command, it tends to reflect in the experience you receive. But that's just my impresson. If they are over-ambitious with what they wish for, market forces will take care of that through lack of business alone.

Cheers

It depends ..... however thai culture does not know the meaning of the words : economic crisis or low season as you can sometimes see Thai bar owners even increase the prices of the drinks in low season....

although it is completely up to the individual what he wants to pay for ST or LT there are some reasonable prices and my opinion is that 1000 Baht or ST and 2000 for LT is a fair price specially in low season bearing in mind that also Bar fine and lady drinks.

applying these prices in BKK and phuket and even in Pattaya (although in pattaya you can easier get cheaper prices while still receiving a decent service.

I think 1500-2000 bath is a good price for a ST, if anything, it's cheap. Like someone wrote earlier, if you think that is expensive, then compare it to the sum you have to pay in Europe for example.
