How many drinks should I buy a Ladyboy I'm interested in?

I think the answer is 26 ?
Seriously though, lady drinks are a very personal thing, some guys are happy to buy drinks for the entire bar, others refuse to buy even one lady drink all night. As they say in Thailand "Up to you !" I guess it depends on your budget and your perspective on the entire scene, but don't be pressured into buying a drink for everyone who ask if you don't want to !

Three months ago, in Cascade, i pay 3000 baths for ST with two LBs (barfine included) and they only want to drink one cola! Two days later, two other lbs : 3000 baths + 1000 for barfine and 4 coktails each... So take it easy Cheers Gil

I was thinking about taking Cream or Golf for my 1st Thai LB experience...

Also I heard that some of the girls are theives and will try to steal from me or drug me. What are some precautions I can take to avoid such an ill fated vacation? Also is this a rare thing?

Not a real issue with girls from the bars at Nana Plaza & Patpong.

There is plenty of advice already posted on the forum regarding personal safety, just be sensible and store your valuables in a room safe or safety deposit box at reception, and carry around only what you need, not your lifes savings !

September 05 3 and 1/2 weeks. Air fare, hotel, food and fun 5000 USD. Hope to cut down on that amount in April 06.

Not sure if this should be a new thread or not. But the subject of lady 'drinks' has come up. Maybe someone could clarify what that's all about. In the past, when I've been asked by someone I'm talking to to buy her a drink. I usually just give her 100 baht and she'll continue to sit with me and we can continue or discussion. Just wondering if the bar frowns on this because the girls are supposed to be working the clients for drinks?

Hope the question makes sense.

Despite this info being 3 1/2 years old now, it's still a good marker, and goes to show a lot of prices haven't changed much.

Accommodation 800-1200 Baht/night

You can still get decent accommodation in Pattaya in this range, and still around the 1200 a night mark in BKK/Phuket. I'd say 1500 to 2000 and gets you more towards luxury living.

Meals 400-600 Baht/day
This is still fairly accurate (depending on how much and luxuriously you like to eat). You can snack for 20-40bht, eat a nice 3 dish Thai meal for safely under 100, or spend closer to 1000 in an Italian restaurant.

Taxis, Tuk Tuks 100-200 Baht/day
The same. All depends what you do in the day and how lazy you are.

Barfines 600 Baht/day
Same. Bar fines tend to be 600 or less.

LB's tips ST 1000 -1500 Baht/day
There tips are a little bit off. You will probably be spending more than this if you are in BKK/Phuket and like to take girls for LT (overnight), or take more than one ST a day.

Drinks/Alcohol 400 - 1000 Baht/day
Depends how much you drink. You can get draf beers or local whisky/coke for 40bht, or pissing it up teh wall on 150bht shots all night. The average holiday maker probably spends closer to 1000+ a night on drink. And if you factor in lady drinks, you may be spending another 300+.

Miscellaneous 100 - 200 Baht/day
Hmmm.. Add 200 for buying a laser pen which nobody finds funny. 300 for some copy DVDs that are poor quality and 700bht for a crocodile skin wallet which you see at the marker for 100 bht the next day :evil:

4500 to 5500 is a good estimate figure IMO. It's more than enough to eat well, drink well, have a decent room and a sexy bedfellow (in any city in Thailand). :evil:
