Bad luck there Robi and Slovenia....not in getting beat by England but by exiting the competition with that oh so late USA goal against Algeria.

Yes it would have been a lot easier if the US had been given the goal they scored earlier!

But I do feel for you Robi as I was about three minutes away from feeling the same way as you do now.

As Slovenian I can only share same thoughts as our coach told... guys did their best and made our country proud.
Last time in 2002 when we played on World Cup we had team full of superstars with Zahovic as one of the highest paid fuc..er on the field. This team was more or less crap with spoiled individuals who didn’t know they represent our country, they only think about their overpaid asses.
In 2010 team however you have to all know that apart from our goal keeper who frankly is one of the best around, we didn’t have any individual who could be characterized as superstar. But boys played with heart for our country and made us all proud. I never saw so many Slovenian flags everywhere; on cars, on street in pubs and all I can say is… we had one of the best days ever even though we lost. After all we are nothing but 2 million small obscure country on the border of EU… even qualifying for World Cup is historic.

You could´ve avoided that by winning group ( as you should have) and get Ghana instead of Germany.
I´m not impressed at all, they are still underachieving, we expect alot more from Engerland.

Do you write for the Daily Mail? I'm not sure what you are expecting from England, you should be expecting Sweden to qualify for the tournament! Or Sven to get his hands out of his pockets and make a decent tactical decision..

I was quite happy with today's game, England should have had 3 or 4 in the back of the net with that performance. I was expecting us to go out today, as many others were, but now I'm glad we are getting a proper big world cup knock out game. I'm over the moon!

England seem to be more up for the big games, and Germany don't look so threatening as they have in the past, but whatever happens, we've made the last 16 and can relax and enjoy a big game on Sunday!

OH YES :cheer:

I am not a huge football person but I always enjoy the world Cup. I find it interesting to see how the matches are viewed on this side of the water. The panels here tend to give a more warts and all analysis of all matches, not just England's games. Here is what they said about today"s match. Stuff you won't hear on BBC or ITV.

it was good to hear a pundit giving an unbiased and truthful analysis of which was IMHO a shitty performane.

They do give a more in depth analysis of all matchs in my opinion. It was amusing a few years ago when Graeme Souness first joined the panel. He was a bit reluctant at first to give strong opinions, but when he realied what he could say and get away with, compared to the more sanatised, tell the viewer what they want to hear commentary on BBC/ITV he really opened up.
