I just want to say a big 'Thank You' for the comments that I've received and coming from such esteemed BM's, they really mean a lot to me. Before this particular trip started, I assumed that my first TR would be mainly about the 'Sex', but it really didn't turn out that way. I suspect that the photographs that I've posted might not result in too many sticky keyboards but for me, and I suspect for other BM's too, mongering is actually about much more than sex.

'Redrock' suggested that I made it all sound 'Romantic', and he is of course quite right because for me, it is romantic.

I just try to imagine what it would be like if I was actually a Thai National, and that by some freak of nature, all of the beautiful Ladyboys in the world were suddenly European. How would that make me feel? I'd have no money to travel and no visa for entry into Europe. For me there would be no chance of ever meeting them and even if I could, I'd have no money to entice them back to my chamber. We all have varying degrees of shit in our lives, but when you stand and look back at it, because by pure accidents of birth we're mostly European, Australian, American etc., we really ought to count every one of our blessings. When I'm labouring away at home in England, I feel like 'Mr Average', but when I'm in LOS, I feel like the luckiest man in the world, and for me that is absolutely pricelss.

If there is 'romance' then I know that I'm buying it, but as Donnykey pointed out .... 'sex is sex and how you like yours to be served is entirely up to you'.

I'll be back in LOS for three months from early February 2010 and with more time, and hopefully a little more Baht, it will be great to share a beer with a few more of you.

I agree with you about feeling lucky. There's a few times when I've been in Thailand, especially late in the evening or early morning, that I've stopped to think how lucky I am.

Brilliant stuff George, well written and nicely put together. Like yourself I keep away from the "superstar" types and prefer the less noticeable gems around town. Thanks for such an entertaining read, well done.

Rarely can trip report be funny, well written and accompanied with great pictures. From beginning I thought; here is another well spoken guy with no-pictures trip report but that was a big mistake. All pictures are great but Aun pictures are… hm… inspiring. Respect.
