I wouldn't read too much into Jimbo's comments about the average bin, as I think he was just trying to highlight what a quiet night it was comparatively.
Regardless what some of you may spend on any given night, Jimbo's standard measuring stick is obviously the "Average Bin", and on this night it was clearly significantly down.

It would be interesting to compare bin sizes when Ronin was there to the bins after he left. Personally I racked up my biggest bills ever at bar in los, largely due to drinking with ronan, StevieP, and Farangbah each night.
Please gentleman lets not fault Jimbo for detailing the spending climate at C&D's. I love hearing about whats going on at the place I miss so much and more importantly love seeing the photos of the lb's who make it such a great place to drink.

Thanks for posting the photos and filling us in on any happenings in Patong. I know its not easy taking photos and posting them as well as running a buisness, but you manage to do this almost everyday.
Its pretty easy for some of these guys to critisize on a forum like this, perhaps they should let their cameras do some talking instead of their keyboards and they would appreciate the bar owners voicing a slow night or period.

Just to add another comment or two to the "Cheap Charlie" post of mine earlier:
KK got it pretty well spot on when he says i was just trying to indicate how quiet a night it was.
DC : I didnt say anybody spending 386Bt was cheap charlie. For the average bin to be 386 indictes that there must have been many bins at 100Bt !They're the Cheap Charlies! Remember, our bins include barfines (400Bt). A customer buying 2 beers, 2 ladydrinks and 1 barfine will pick up a tab of 900Bt. it doesnt take many of those to get the average up.
Pentire: "plenty of bar owners would appreciate average bins of 386 Bt" - yes maybe if they're beer bars in the middle of soi Bangla, or soi 7/8 in Pattaya, but for an "Agogo" style bar like ours, Guess bar in Bkk, Ezy, stringfellows etc in Pattaya, an average bin needs to be a lot higher. Of course I need the guys popping in "for a couple of beers", but the success or failure of the venue depends so much on the high spenders. Hence my deep gratitude to this forum for providing so many.
The difference between 45 bins at an average of 386Bt and 44 bins at 708 Bt (last night) is some 14,000 Bt. Its the difference between success and failure!
I have been in Thailand for 2 1/2 years and i want to stay another 2 1/2 years. If our average bin was to be constant at 386 baht, i will be back in the Uk in 2 1/2 months!
I try to add things to this thread - news, gossip, rants about Thai police and politics, pictures from Tequila bar and other locations, and yes, a few snippets of financial interest too. I do it to make you feel part of the bar. I treat you like "shareholders". Yes, its true, the only "dividend" you're ever going to get is continuance of the venue. But if the directors of the business fail, you the shareholders will lose your "dividend". I love it when i read Trip Reports and the guys say they drop their bags and head straight for HQ, and feel they know the place before they even get there. I love it when guys walk over and introduce themselves "hello, I'm so-and-so from The Forum" - instant friendship and common ground helps give them a feel-good sensation. And yes of course, encourages them to relax and spend their money there too.
I dont want to be a "me-too" thread with pictures of the same 20 odd girls every day. Indeed, to post every day, I need to be able to add all those other things.
