We may all be just mongers, but without hearts and feelings for those we spend time with we would be a sad lot altogether.
Good luck.

Developments...............
I've had a few sms messages, calls and e-mails from the loved one in Laos, fairly innoculous and generally lovey dovey but all done through "a friend", which I don't feel comfortable with, then of course the one we've all been expecting arrived;
"Darling I need you to send me $600 to help me get a flat and help my Father out", this I ignored for a few days then the sms came in thick and fast, I won't elaborate much other than to say the pressure was on. Certifiably Daft I may be but stupid, I think not.
I tried to be reasonable so I replied to the e-mail pointing out that there is no way I'm sending any money to a source I do not know.
More sms followed but strangely enough no phone calls.......an e-mail this morning just asked for enough money to go back to Pattaya if I won't take care of her, my response was similar and I pointed out that if she was sat in front of me I care enough to help her regardless of the outcome but I am still not sending any money to Laos to an unknown source.
Practical issues; it's holiday time here, all banks etc are closed for the duration.
I'm out on business for a week or so and won't be able to do as she asks.
Its a mute point for me to ponder and you to post comment, I shall take it like a man. :?

Over the years I've had my fair share of requests for assistance, and I can assure you that there is nothing to be gained from sending money.
Once or twice I have assisted a couple of select individuals, however I knew very well that it was basically money down the toilet.
Everyone has a different perspective and for some farangs earning alot of money, they seem to be non fussed about 'helping out'.
I don't have a problem with guys sending money, however I do have a major problem with guys sending money who are stupid enough to think their "girlfriend" is waiting patiently, and being faithfull until they return in 12 months time.
As long as people know the real deal, thats all that matter to me.
P.S. Did the e-mail mention the dreaded Buffalo Flu ?
Cheers

You only have to see the reaction of GG's and LB's once that Western Union transfer has successfully turned into the baht in their pocket It's high fives all around and drinks are on me time time whilst they refer to the benefactor as ''stupid farang''

Let me offer another perspective ... my LBF in Bangkok has REAL money problems with her family and she WON'T take anything from me, despite my offer; because she feels it is her difficulty to manage her family....
compare and contrast, as they say ....

I've been in touch with another BM who also has a soft spot for her, he informs me she has indeed only been there for 2 months and was lured there by the promise of cash by the more seasoned and hardened operators Ann & Far from Pooks.......Kate is definetely a softie and fairly new to the hard streets of Pattaya so while I don't know exactly whats going on I certainly have my own thoughts on the matter. I may not the only one being played........

Good to hear your hanging in there and I hope you enjoy the relationship.
As previously stated in my report Kate had not asked me for a bean and it was me generally pushing her in the direction of the shops, all she asked was for me to pay her barfines and looking back and judging by the rapidity of her departure I got the impression she did not want to go there again, she also said that Mama Pook was looking after her money for her, probably for safety. It's a rough world for them and generally I think most of us are fairly happy to help where we can.

This suspicion you have sounds serious enough to not send them money.
"when it feels wrong, it normally is"!

I remeber you said the same thing would happen when Fatboy was to send money to Annie in C&D.
Did she ever "buy the coctails all round on me" ?

I've just booked my November trip and I had intended to go to visit Jimbo in Phuket but there's a few places I never visited because of my being in Lub, I've purposefully avoided Pattaya for 20 years because of it's reputation and now find it's exactly that which is pulling me back there, so the flight is paid for and the confirming e-mail from the good old PBR received, anyone around 17-27th?
My sporran is firmly shut.

A Ladyboy is never early , neither is she ever late . She turns up precisely when she means to.
