Hey, Stevie.

For what it's worth, I have the exact same dates as you, and I'll be in Phuket for the first week and staying at Tom's as well.

Though after hearing about your grand finale the other day, I may be out of my league...

I've only ever done New Years in Pattaya, and every time it's been over crowded with teh wrong kind of people. I'm happy to dodge Pattaya from the 2/3 days leading up to New Years to New Years Day.

This comment has me concerned. As of today, my trip is: Phkt Dec 21-27, BKK 28-29, Patts 30-6. That's only 7 days total in Patts -- would you recommend extending in Phkt or spending a "regular night" New Year's Eve in BKK over dealing with the riff raff in Patts during NYE? Or maybe I should extend in BKK one more day through the 30th and only arrive in Patts on the 31st itself? (I just thought it might be best to get my bearings for a day before NYE)

I have to finalize in the next couple days. Any comments would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I don't want to put you off going to Pattaya, some people love New Years in Pats some people hate it. It's extremely busy for the few days leading up to New Years but it cools down quickly a couple of days after.

I couldn't tell you what Phuket is like at New Years, but I'm guessing it's a similar situation. bangkok tends to be slightly more calm, with all the locals and tourists heading to Siam Square and a few spots, and the NEP is less chaotic (although I think Bar Fines usually go right up).

As it happens quite a few BMs will be in Pattaya for New Years now, and most of the chaos is around Walking St, so it's not impossible to avoid it all and nestle down in some beer bar tucked out the way.

I have a feeling it may be a Sally's Bar New Years Eve for some of us.

Sally's Bar is in Jomtien, we were at Charnee bar for last New years.

We need more rockets this year, more rockets, more LB, more dinky dinky, and more wetty wetty.

Aaaaahhhhh. Sally's bar this Newyear. Good call kliome. Who needs the hustle & bustle of Walking Street at that time of year - fuck that. And more rockets? You must be crazy! Last year was like Guy Fawkes night X 100. It was pretty cool though.

Laugh, I seem to remember you losing your rocket every two minutes last year. If LaBamba hadnt offered to care for it awhile it would have been lost :D and not sure I'd want to repeat the hot tub I still have nightmares.

DM did Kliome ever admit to liking the smell of your finger? ROFL

And of course where else will you see roads covered in red cardboard fragment, they all looked like a ticker tape parade had just passed by.

I think avoiding Walking street on the night worked quite well and it was damm funny wandering around after midnight with the BM's sampling the delights

Afraid to say our Moderator Kliome is a bit of a pervert and if it wasnt for DM keeping him on the straight and narrow it would end in tears, last time I saw him he was actually taking a GG home for the night. Just weird I guess!
