gaz, Jimbo is running a bar not a travel agency and he's likely got much better things to do with his time, such as lubing the dance poles or stocking the bar, than to give you a step by step account of how to shift your lazy arse from one location to another.

I have to disagree on this. Jimbo is someone who knows the power of internet marketing. I know that he's convinced me through is posts that I have to get back to Phuket and I have to visit C&D first.

The last time I visited Phuket was just before the tsunami and I know there are lots of tourist areas and lots of hotels.

Jimbo could off the top of his head write down a list of decent lb-friendly hotels in his vicinity, and with a bit more work could add phone numbers and web sites. He could just post this list whenever the topic came up.

The problem with tourist areas is that there are often too many hotels to choose from and its only through many trips that you learn which are good and which are bad. However with the help of an expert you can shorten the learning process.

khunjohn, Jimbo certainly does know the impact of 'internet marketing' and through his efforts on this and several other threads has single-handedly put Phuket back on the map for many.

However, my point was regarding a particular someone's bone-idleness in being able to determine how to make their way across the country when it has been discussed many times in the past and is not specialist knowledge. Simple forum or google searches would have revealed that answer.

People have become very lazy with the internet, particularly on forums, where they want immediate answers without doing any research themselves for the simplest things.

But you're right about Jimbo's advice re: accomodations. Particularly for those on a budget or the cheap-charlies and as Jimbo stated already, the budget conscious may not have the ability to enjoy themselves to the full and therefor potentially feel disappointed with Phuket due to it's costs in comparison t other locations in Thailand.
