Stevie - I think they are all pretty much the same - the ZX1 looks a bit better than the TZ6 though and a bit cheaper than the TZ7.

Not true

There is a difference between HD and non HD video
There is a difference in censor and ability to shoot low light with PnS
There is a difference between wide angle and non wide angle
There is a difference in price

Those are the differences between H20 - TZ6 - TZ7

You're talking to guys who are going to be drunk, drooling and clutching one and perhaps more than one LB whilst trying to work out how their new camera works - it may be all true but it's pretty much irrelevant.

I need another small pocket camera after my little Sony T10 was pinched last trip (luckily no pics lost).
I've chosen the Canon S90is :pic:

Awesome! Great get!

Only reason what is stopping me buying S90 is the lack of HD vid.

OMG! Noob! All current GEN PNS have 1 or more Personal Programmes / Scenes you can configure (e.g. TZ6 has 1, TZ7 2). Programme these right for purpose before going on holiday and it doesnt matter how drunk you are. One selection and fire away for pixel perfect bar pictures. Does ofc then depend on the camera spec you have chosen... And how steady your hands still are ...

Guess they don't do much in the way of light hearted chit chat in Holland relax, unclench your arse, remove your anorak and move on or fuck off - all the same to me - I really really don't care cloggie.

We've got it in England, but it doesn't seem to have filtered through to everybody yet :baby:

Just different. Right, back to the topic. How are you enjoying the S90? Has some stellar user and pro reviews. I am thinking it may be too small for my hands, not sure about quality of vid output, also the rings mechanism seem great for usability yet bit clumpsy to work when pointing with one hand, adjusting with the other. How are you finding these things? Looks awesome btw, great specs too, price is sweet too. Thanks.

I'm looking at the Lumix TZ6
that's my budget.

What's your piont n shoot ?
Cheers Dutch.

Stevie

TZ6 has the VENUS IV sensor not the 1/2.33" CCD as on TZ7. I'd spend ~50E extra for the super low light performing CCD sensor. You also get 1280 HD movie then.

Then have a read through (also compares TZ6 and TZ7). Bear in mind TZ range is named differently in US, namely Z1 = TZ6 , Z3 = TZ7: http://www.dpreview....9grouplongzoom/

SONY H20 scores best across the board, also has HD1280 vid, and is priced even cheaper then TZ6/ TZ7 ...

Only drawback , IMHO looking at images, is a bit more bulcky compared to TZ, but that is minor, it is still v.compact. Also biggest drawback of the TZ-fam is comparibly poor Flash, which you will need , regardless of censor, with super zoom as above ISO 400 really becomes crap and with the zoom your aperture will be too low (read: high F nr.)).

Hope this helps. Cheers, Chris
