Mardhi,
Saw you yesterday in action at guess bar with your photo shoot and you certainly captured all nice spirit.
I do not agree with your assessment of 19 customers ... actually saw many leave without even taken LB's with them ... somehow i think the reality of the economic crisis and therefore inflation of prices has not sunk into guess bar staff ....
I do like the atmosphere for a nice beer and meet fellow BM'ers to chat and meet up but other venues have provided me with much talent recently as they approach the current economic situation and lack of business with more realism ....

My quote of 19 customers is correct - there were 8 outside on the terrace and 11 inside so unless my addition is poor, that equals 19 at the time I counted while trying to fathom out how to take another picture without any customers either being in the shot or being inconvenienced. I would be totally amazed if every customer walking into any bar left with the staff - my reckoning would be thats its more likely about 20-30% of customers who barfine but thats nothing more than a semi-educated guess.
I am not sure I understand your comment about the reality of the economic crisis as it pertains to prices. I can only assume you are talking about negotiations pertaining to extra services once out of the bar and thats a whole area I dont get involved it - Thai logic is not the same as Western and here the prices tend to go UP when the economy tightens, i.e their logic seems to follow that if fewer people, those people need to pay more to make up for the ones not here
Cheers

It's not TOTALLY crazy. For instance, I pay 10x more for a turntable today as opposed to 25 years ago - same make and model, just fewer buyers as the technology moved on. Of course the analogy breaks down somewhat when one considers that there are also fewer manufacturers of turntables today whereas the Nissan factory seems to be working triple shifts to give us new and improved ladyboy models.
But as the Filipinas who come north to service us desperados here in the Middle Kingdom are always pointing out, people complaining about the prices in LOS is pretty hard to fathom.
Send me a couple of Jay's overpriced spares will you Mardhi? As a New Year's gesture!

Was sorry to miss Beer this trip, but had a great time with her in February and was great to speak to her on the phone the last night I was there.
From my observations, the bar was doing well. Only one slow night and it was a Tuesday but I had left to go eat with Fah and came back at 11 so missed 2 hours. At closing time their were about 9 to 10 girls left. So maybe i missed somthing.

I understand what you are saying about thai logic ... and as you are probably far more experienced in thai logic then me - thanks for your insight.
The point (my observation) about customers i merely was making that i feel the guess bar is used more for drinking and meeting by many customers then actually obtaining the services of the LB's percentage-wise i mean. But that observation is only done based upon last week experience.
But again interesting insight you gave me on how this thai world/mind is working.

Ink is still there - but she was not in the bar on Monday - probably day off for all I know given its usually the quietest night of the week - so many staff are off on that night. Dear was also there and also two other very leggy girls, both of whom I have seen before but cant remember their names - they had all been barfined out. Thinking about it - there was another one as well but who it was escapes me.

Then we found an opportunity on the terrace
Who is the girl that is 2nd from the right in this picture from Mardhi (#12)? I saw her last night and was pretty interested in barfining her. Any info / reviews?
I always enter an LB bar 100% with intent to barfine. I'm not there to drink (barely ever do) and I'm not there to mess about. I guess I'm not surprised a lot of folks behave in other ways, but it is completely opposite how / why I go out in Thailand.
