matchman, that seems to be the official dates for Songkran in Pattaya, but my Thai contacts in Pattaya say it's only the 19th April.

But when I've been before and from what I hear other BM's say, it lasts for several days in both Bangkok and Pattaya. Also Bangkok and Pattaya have different dates too, Bangkok is April 13th - 15th according to some sites I've looked at.

I take it you're trying to avoid it.

I can tell you know, Songkran in Pattaya will last close to a week.

Nationally (in Bangkok) Songkran will be 13th to 15th April, traditionally Pattaya celebrates for the whole of the following week up until the weekend, so basically no one will be dry in Pattaya from then until Sat 19th.

As Klimoe says it normally lasts a week, starting on the Friday before.. and tapering off later the next week. So my hope is to arrive as it dies down and still get to see all the BM's in town without getting wet and annoyed

well...now F..... only 45 days left to take-off and its a open question if i get more wet outside...than inside...

I will be in pattaya the week of songkran coming from patong hope I can share a beer with everyone I for the most part travel solo but it looks like allot of members will be in pattaya and sounds like this could be fun

For the April/May attendees maybe we should summarise and re-post our from-to dates so we can assess the situation and pencil in some dates for gatherings, at least for now.

Choice of venues can follow closer to the time when someone is on the ground, depending on what and where is available, such as Lita's, Tornado's, La Bamba's or wherever. I'll have a look when I get there.

Also, precisely who is gonna be in Pattaya around the 19th April etc. at songkran time? - Maybe we could take a corner or a bar somewhere, armed and ready with a bunch of LB's and give those other buggers what for :twisted:

Still Songkran on April 19th???? Did not know that. It's exactly the day I am arriving. Might stay a few days in BKK though and it will definitely be over in BKK or will it not?
Until when is Songkran lasting in Pattaya exactly?

I'm arriving Arpil 11th but not sure for how long, around 6/7 weeks I hope. First 2/3 days in BKK and then on to Pattaya.

DM arrives the same day but will only be about for 2 weeks.

Anthony is pencilled in to arrive the next day I think, April 12th.

Although I get here on 1st April myself I'm doing a little of what you & DM did in December. Flitting in and out of Bangkok and Pattaya a few times, plus another side trip. Back in Pattaya definately on the 19th April early afternoon.

I know Songkran leaves many of us in varying states of despair, but with a bunch of us together it would make an enjoyable time, bolstered with a few of our LB favourites
