Hi Batman

Im probably going to stay at the Dynasty in Pattaya for a few days - Ive stayed at the Dybasty Inn Grande in BKK and they have a shuttle to get there. Then I may head back to Bkk for a few days before I return to London, but not sure yet.

I dont have a Thai sim card - is it straightforward to buy one and pop it in your phone? How do you top up over there?

You should be able to meet quite a few of us on those dates Stuart.

Regarding the sim, it's very simple, you can even by the sims at the airport on arrival now. Turn left as you exit the baggage collection and you will see a DAC and 12call stand.

The sims just slot into your phone, although you may need an unlocked tri band phone.

If you have a locked triband phone there are plenty of places that can unlock your phone for small change.

Altenrtaively you cna buy acheap Nokia for 1/2000bht and use that.

Topping up is easy, you just buy scratch cards in 7/11 and punch in the numbers and you're all topped up!

Guys, if you need help with accomodation in Phuket, I can get good quality Guesthouse rooms for 600 baht at that time. Only drawback is they`re in Nanai Road which is not really walking distance to the action. But sharing tuk-tuks is always good fun! Or maybe hire a couple of bikes? Oops theres a joke there somewhere lol

jimbo I am looking for a room in for April looking for a room that has a balcony or some kind out side seating area I been looking into this c&n hotel web site , or maybe you have any suggestions on hotels ?

I don't normally book a room for any April trip I just show up most of the time and try to get a price I am happy with

I have a spare phone and will get a SIM when I arrive. I will rely on collecting a few BM's Thai numbers before I get out though so that I can find out where you're hanging out!

Hello Guys

I returned to the site today after quite a break. I cant believe I have just booked my trip to BKK and Phuket, thought my LB days were over! I am in BKK 25/26 Apr then down to Phuket 27/3 May. Its been a few years so it would be cool to meet any of you guys who are in the area, to brief me of developments over a few beers.

AHH Yes my 30 day count down has begun. Thurs night April 10 I arrive in BKK. I'll stick around BKK till Sat. afternoon then take the Dynasty taxi to Pattaya!! Looking foward to meeting up. I'll be in LOS till the 27 of April but I may head to Phuket around the 23rd.

i land about 3pm so at 4 pm latest...iam on my way to pty...have booked a taxi from Howards... :wink:

if i get up early, i will taxi to pattaya, get to the beach.
if i get up late, i could wait for you, or meet you at airport

I'll most likely roll with Anthony to Pattaya on 14th, but no solid plans as yet.

Yep - I'm counting the days too - I arrive on the 16th so I'll see you guys in Pattaya on 17th or 18th at the latest. Does anyone know if Dynasty Inn mind a one-nighter before transferring to their hotel in Pattaya? That way I can get down there a day earlier.

If you mean do you qualify for the free transfer after just one night at the Dynasty Inn, I think you do. I think the rule is that you spend a minimum number of nights at the Dynasty Inn Pattaya (which I think is three) to qualify.

If you mean: you have booked for more than one night at the Dynasty Inn BKK and now want to check out early, this is also usually OK.

What ever the case the Dynasty Inn are quite good regarding customer service and it doesn't hurt to contact them directly just to double check the situation.
