As discussed in my field report from Phuket... I thought it mightbe interesting to see everyones perspective on this topic.

I've only got a couple of rules when LB hunting:

1. Never pay over the odds
2. Negogiate first - ensure you've secured a price before you leave the bar
3. Never get involved with anyone who has a hint of drugs - in behaviour or any comment they might make
4. Always have an exit strategy - when entering a room... or even a relationship
5. Never ever send money

AND...

6. Never choose the first girl you see or speak to. As another maybe be better around the corner.

I've always felt that only a rank amateur who cannot control himself will choose the first girl he sees or talks to.

This rule is normally sound advice but has some HUGE disadvantages also... as i get very choosie when i'm in Thailand. And I get scared "what if i dont see a better one tonight??"

It's almost a topic on its own.... how come when i'm outside Thailand i get frustrated Dream about and will almost screw the builders in a dress... but when i get to Thailand my "Selective Gene" kicks in and i become very selective about which LB i will choose for the evening.

sorry... back on topic...

SO... i've got a little advice. If you talk to a girl (or see one early evening)... get her phone number!
You can always look around - hunt without worry - and if you dont see anything you like then phone the girl up later in the evening and arrange to meet her. This as worked a few times for me - whilst before i didnt think about it and regretted not striking when the iron was hot.

Another way is to arrange to meet her in her bar or someplace later. I've had mixed results with that. Sometimes you return and she's with another punter - thats just a huge turn off.

I will take the first one I see if she is really what I am looking for, I use to alway look for one a little better and ended up with the one no one else wanted. The phone thing would never work for me, I have a hard enough time understanding them when I can see them, forget the phone.

It's actually amazing how well some of them speak English. Most of them learn through minimal education and then pick it up very quiickly in the bars.

OK, there are soem enoying expressions and phrases that only exist in LOS, but in general the standard of English is good and I've very rarely had problems communicating, you only tend to get this with the girls who are fresh on the scene.

It puts most of us to shame, especiailly those Ex-pats who have been on the scene for year and still speak pidgeon Thai.

Absolutely correct Kliome.

I wonder how fluent freakslikeme69 is. Probably "Hello" and "Thankyou" is his max in Thai. Please sir try to be more tolerant of other cultures and societies.

As Kliome says these girls have picked up most of the language from customers and it just shows how intelligent they are to do that and also be able to scam hundreds/thousands of pounds for naive punters.

I'm fluent in English and i find it difficult extracting cash from my clients !!

I totally agree with brit and Kliome with this one.
I was chatting to this girl online and her engllish and spelling is even better than mine, the amount of times I scrolled up to copy and paste a word she wrote cause I could'nt spell it myself is well into double figures by now and in regards to the question in the tread, I've never even been to thailand, let alone even met a ladyboy, but am meeting the one I have been chatting to and planning on spending my whole 2 weeks there with her, and am looking forward to posting my first field report aswell and trust me its going to be a good one, cause the things a planning on doing

Regarding your original question Brit, i think there is no need to feel like you are missing out by choosing the first one that you find sexy. It will always play on your mind 'have i chosen too soon' but there is no end to that demon in your mind..It can and will drive you crazy.
If i find the girl im talking to attractive and fun, then i usually forget about what else might be waiting around the corner. If it is still early in the evening and im not ready to go back to my room yet, then i take her for a drink somewhere quiet or go to eat or play pool.

Besides, more often then not, you will regret walking away!

Alternatively, you could take her number and try to locate her later, but if she was hot then chances are you wont get hold of her!

No JO racist wouldn't be there accent, it would be like something like there skin color or the rot of there English teeth, that would be racist.

Don't try to make me look like I am the racist, I can care less what color a person is or if they brush there teeth, well as long as they don't breath on me.

Unfortunately for you Freaks 'Bernard Manning' likeme, Rascism IS also about accent, not just skin colour. Rascism derives from a fear of an ethnicity that is other (xenophobia) or a social group that is binary or tangent to your own.

Racism is social discrimination in any form and against any physical feature or physical characteristic that belongs to culture, society or social group.

You were probably just trying to be funny, but you'll find most users are here because of their love and admiration for LBs, and they probably don't appreciate such 'roasting pit' style comments

Actually, I don't find Freaks comment to be racist due to a situation I had personally. I had a three year relationship with a young lady from Uruguay. She had lived in the US for three years, but had lived in a predominately Spanish section of Queens, NY, and was just learning English in college.

Our communication face to face was never a problem, but in the early stages we could hardly set up a date on the phone. This was solved by me starting to learn Spanish, and her knowledge of English growing.

I don't think it's a racist comment that Freaks made. Telephone conversation when you are not fluent in each other's languages is far more difficult than face to face.

But, Kliome, I appreciate your points, all very valid. I have dealt with more racism than most, and I do not approve at all. I was in a mixed marriage and have seen it from several sides (BTW - I have a beautiful Italian/Black/Hungarian/German/Puerto Rican/British daughter.....my ex-wife and I got it from all sides). Racism is nothing but ignorance and fear from very small minded people.

Ignore my comments, they were harsh. No one has proven to be particularly rascist.

I never like to be an early casualty. I always use the 'I'm meeting a friend' line. Who cares if they don't beleive it, it the same when they do the 'I wait for you only line', it's just part of the game.

As I novice I choose early and spent hours buying a girl drinks playing pool etc, which isn't my style really. I like to meet them fairly late, cut out the nonsense and go back to the room providing there is some kind of connection. I always make sure they choose me too, after too many dud ones. If I like them then I will see them again.

I think you know when you meet a good one, they are few and far between. Last time I met one who wasnt the most beautifull but she was up front with what she wanted (showed me her hard on in the bar) and her English was good. I decided to go with her just because she was a laugh.

There is so much choice in Pattya I never worry about being empty handed, there are hundreds of beautifull ones after closing time.

I've never really worried about looking for the best girl , if the chemistry is right with the first one then it does not matter . You can also get too pissed to perform properly if you wait too long.
And theres always another night. :D
