Any news on the closing of Pook Bar on Soi Buk. in Pattaya? Would be a shame.

Went by it yesterday. Looks more like renovations, but maybe a new owner? Next time I go by I'll try to ask.

Miss Pook is still there and has kept a close eye on the alterations, but the place has turned into a ladyboy-free diner-type venue. I haven't set foot in it yet and doubt that I will. Simply because I see no point in its new existence and it's a loss to our community.
On a more positive note; I feel far less observed when using the Bangkok Bank ATM opposite.

I'm not surprised Pooks Swan has gone. I rarely, if ever criticise another bar, but this one lost the plot about 3 years ago IMO. It's simply not good enough to swan up in your mercedes to collect last night's take, while letting the staff behave exactly as they please.
Mrs Pook is a shrewd businesslady, but took her eye off the ball, allowing Junior a free rein. And allowing the 'princesses' to have their way is not necessarily in the customers best interest. Unless she gets a grip of things the new-look venture will also fail (not that we will care now that it's a LB-free zone!).

this is the year that I assume is when the place has a lot of shut downs, im not happy about it but with t.a.t claiming jeenism is growing and its gonna be the best year yet they don't seem to be either.
Baby Boom has just moved to brand new premises.
69 Bar has just been extended.
Sensations is due to move and become the biggest ladyboy venue in the world in little over a week's time.
Unwise to make too many assumptions based upon little or no knowledge of the scene.

The 2 movers, Baby Boom and Sensations have both gotten into the room rental business as well as the mainstream bar. A smart idea and probably a quite easy revenue stream to turn on without too much effort. It'll be interesting to see typical room prices as to where they are pitching the opportunity at.
The move to modern, aircon'd units is a natural progression as the demographics of the customer base are changing and fewer of those guys seem content / accepting paying 90b for a beer while sweating their bollocks off in a poorly ventilated bar beer.

I've had a few hardships in my life, but the low point must have been when I was accused of breach of protocol on a website for worshippers of sex with barely legal (18+ teenager) transsexuals of Asian appearance. And not enough with being accused of being a fuck-up; implication was made that I could only be given half credit for fucking-up. How dare they say, that I was not able to fully achieve a certain act of fucking-up! "... attempts to name drop forum members are cringe worthy and a little creepy". Clearly I was not able to name-drop; my stutter must have been worse than ever, on that day.
I heard a funny story once: Two guys in a Pattaya bar, told me about going to Guess Bar. They met a group there by chance; my take on what went down at Guess Bar was that the mentioned group were siting pompously in lounge chairs, and part of their claim to fame, were being senior board members-, i think it was, on The Ladyboy Forums (around 2008). Stalking of Wall Street Journal and The Economist are a thing of the past. The creeps are clearly moving up the food chain. And here we are. Lol.
